I am looking for a Neuropsychiatric Lyme Specialist in Southern through Central Maine. My 10 year old daughter had Lyme disease in the summer of 2009. The right side of her face was paralyzed for almost 4 weeks. She took antibiotics for about 5 months and the doctor indicated she had an acute case. She is now having issues with attention, processing information at school, depression and anxiety. She has gone from the top of her class to the middle of her class in 6 months with no issues or warning signs prior to 6 months ago. I am struggling to get her doctor to even consider a relapse of Lyme but there seems to be some convincing evidence out there for her to at least be tested. Neuropsychiatric Lyme is pretty scary stuff but I seem to be hitting road blocks at every turn.
