Recently diagnosed with Lymes when presented myself to my PCP with a bulls eye rash. I remember a mosquito type swelling in the area but don't recall a tick bite. She put me on doxy 100 mg 2x day for 2 weeks.

Want to consult a lyme specialist in the area to ensure this is the right approach to kill off all the infection. Really worried and scared. Please help with dr. info.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the information and support Nancy. Do I need a name for the Dr.? I know you provided the phone number, but was wondering which Dr. to ask for.

Also, incase there are no immediate openings, would you suggest any other Dr.? Finally, should I try and convince my PCP for a longer duration of the doxy to kill off the bugs or does the strength needs to be altered as well. (incase I cant get in to see a LLMD right away)

Thanks again and sorry for so many questions!

PM sent.

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment.

Call the Lyme doctors offices to ask for an appointment (call every day for cancellations) or ask to put on their waiting list if they have one. People have been able to get in earlier by doing this.

A low dose of doxy for 2 weeks is nowhere near enough to fight this illness!
