are there any choices of Lyme literate doctors or LLMD's that take insurance anywhere near us? We think my husband has Lyme and he has already been through many doctor appointments and including and MRI and one negative lyme test from the local hospital, but the dr cannot figure it out. Has a little of this and a little of that but nothing fits exactly. And also if we had ELSIE and WESTERN BLOT done here by dr in Vt, could that test result be taken to a LLMD to read ? Is there any difference in how its done between hospital/dr or a Lyme dr? or is it just a difference in how they know how to read it? thank you for any help!

If he had the test soon after the tick bite, it will come back falsely negative.

yes, an LLMD can take a test and read it for you or you could post the results here. If you have the "bands" that showed up on the test, we can help you with that.

Please post it in Medical Questions, here:

http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi/forum/1?

An MRI will not show Lyme and neither will a spinal tap. (some lyme patients do have lesions that show up from Lyme, however, not everyone who has Lyme has lesions)

TONS of info right here:

I will send you some names of Drs. WElcome! [Smile]

This explains why you have to find an LLMD and why they are being persecuted:

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/vermontlyme

Maybe they can help you.

Some more resources for you:
www.lyme-aware.org/vermont.html

www.ilads.org
www.lymediseaseassociation.org

Please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.

I am also interested in physicians who are practicing in Vermont preferably, or nearby, allopathic or naturopathic.

Lyme4awhile - you should write a new post instead of adding on to an existing one, That way, more people will see it and respond.

See my suggestions above.
