Hi, I, like lots of people, have had conflicting diagnosis or interpretation of my sons Lyme blood tests. He is 9 years old.
He was tested for Lyme through Igenix last April and it came back as “igenix positive but cdc negative for the IGG western blot” and “Negative IGM” A NP interpretation was “that he had a past infection and if he wasn’t treated than he still has it”.
Since this test he was tested through his PPC at a Lab (Imugen 8/2013) and results were
Babsia microti DNA detection NEGATIVE''PCR Anaplasma phagocytophilum (HGA) DNA detection''NEGATIVE Borrelia burgdorferi test method antibody capture enzyme immuneassay''“no serologic evidence of early infection with B burgdorferi”
Still waiting on the western blot analysis.
If you could help me find a LLMD that can help me make sense of all this I will be very grateful.
Also, willing to travel for proper care.
Thanks,

Since your son was positive on the IgG portion of the Western Blot done by Igenex, your son has lyme disease. Igenex is a tick borne disease specialty lab. They are tops. If they give you a positive, you can rely on it.
As you will read, if either the IgG or the IgM is positive, that is a positive test.
The CDC criteria are surveillance criteria used by the Government for their own purposes. These criteria are NOT used to diagnose a person. So, you do not have conflicting test results at all. What you have is a very common result.
Many people are positive only on the IgG.
I can send you the name of a great doctor in Hyde Park, NY if you are interested. Let me know by sending me a private message. Click on the envelope icon above my post.
