while being cleared for knee replacement earlier this year, asked doc for Lyme test. Positive for Lyme but getting frustrated with docs and treatments. Symptoms have been going on and worsening for nearly two years. Recall removing an engorged tick in fall 2011 but didn't get a rash so I didn't worry about it, I'm sure the story is similar to many here. Anyway, rambling so info would be appreciated, I want my life back. Many thanks.

Btw - please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.

Sent you some names in Maryland and D.C. Beware of lists of lyme doctors for a state. These lists include all doctors known to treat lyme, whether they can get rid of lyme for a person or not.
You don't want to spend all your money on such a doctor only to find out that you need to go to someone else to get well.
There is no substitute for personal recommendations when it comes to lyme disease.
Don't want you to become broke going to a lousy lyme doctor.
Many doctors treat lyme disease, but only a very FEW know enough to get rid of it for a person. Can't emphasize that enough.
