I don't believe I have any symptoms of Lyme Disease aside from a small and faint bulls eye rash by my hair line.

It was first initially a raised bump which I discovered a day or so after a walk in a trail path a little under 3 weeks ago.

I had 2 other smaller bites that have now disappeared.

I dismissed them all as just regular mild bug bites until yesterday when I did some online searching regarding bug bites.

That lead to reading about the bulls eye mark and then finally Lyme Disease. I am really concerned.

Today I went to a local MD who took a look at the mark, asked me a couple of questions, and told me it was nothing to worry about. She prescribed me "emo corti 2.5% hydrocortisone cream" and ordered me to get a blood test to check for common things (glucose, iron level etc.) and said that any abnormalities will turn up on the test as well.

I'm turning 18 this year. I'm kind of really scared. My family says it's nothing, that I'm being pessimistic and overly suspicious. I really want to believe this, but so many online sources are confirming my worries.

I live in Toronto, Ontario and have read that there aren't any Lyme literate doctors in Canada at all. Could anyone help me?

No, a bull's rash means Lyme disease and you need to arrange for appropriate treatment ASAP because you've had a recent tick bite and have a chance to stop the infection.

Even if you need to travel to see a Lyme doctor, that's what's needed right now.

Usually triage treatment is something like 200mg doxycycline 2x/day for 6-8 weeks while you stay out of the sun.

Steroids for a Lyme infection is a no-no and doesn't work.

Try contacting www.canlyme.com

I'm also pming you about a possible contact -

That is what they gave me in 2002 when I had an EM. Cortisone cream and methorexate.

My quality of life has been downhill since.

You need to see an LLMD ASAP. Got to catch this before it messes up every system in your body.

I only know of docs in BC and Seattle.

Go to

CanLyme.

Contact them. Ask them for assistance. They may be able to refer you to a support group in your area. The people in that group will know who the LLMD's in your area.

But please go to a different doctor in the meantime and tell them you had a tickbite and you want some abx for it as you have an EM rash and you feel unwell.

Good luck

Forgot to mention to take pictures of your rashes.

This is very important if you need future treatment.
