Hello, my name is Malia and I am seeking a llmd for my husband and I. He is 25yrs old and I am 27. My husbands condition is chronic while I am starting to feel the effects. We live in oregon. We need help! I don't want to burden anyone from a long paragraph so I'm hoping I gave enough information. Thank you.

Hi there.
I'm not sure if there are any LLMD's in Oregon.
But there are LLMD's in WA state and CA.
And I'm pretty sure there are some LLND's in Oregon.
I'm responding to your request to put your post at the top so the folks in Oregon can point you and your hubbie in the right direction.
Best, Greta

I suggest you pm Keebler. Click on Directory at the top of the page here and type in her name. You'll see her posts listed. Click on any to open one, then click on the pencil icon to send her a message. She's in Oregon and will know what to tell you. - Robin

- I'm so very sorry to tell you that there are no LLMDs in Oregon. The Oregon Medical Board is fiercely opposed to even the idea of lyme at all and, especially to chronic lyme.
However, there is a LLMD just across the river, over the Washington state line.
And there are a couple LL NDs who are ILADS educated and there is an active lyme support group that meets once a month. Contact them for all options in your health care providers, testing, etc.
An ND is a naturopathic doctor. Not all know about lyme (or know enough) so be sure anyone you see is ILADS educated. There are at least 2-3 in Portland.
The Kaiser Papers – not by or from Kaiser Insurance but about how they deal with lyme inquiries
Also gives background regarding lack of lyme assessment / treatment in general, regardless of one’s insurance coverage.
OREGON SUPPORT GROUPS listed at BOTTOM OF PAGE -

- I don't know about Salem. Just sent you details for a couple LL NDs in Portland area. Many in Oregon travel to either California or Washington so I'll add that detail for you, too.
Just zipper in the state name where you seek a LL doctor. To join for discussion, best to join in your own state. -

- A FEW BASICS (for your reference file)
Best to see an ILADS-educated lyme literate (LL) doctor in person for an assessment before doing any tests.
Across the street from the Hospital's main entrance. There is a parking garage behind this building where you can park and a doorway in the garage on the first level that connects to the building.
We will be meeting in the second floor conference room. There is an elevator if you can not take stairs and signs will posted.
[Keebler's note: I've not been in this building for many years but, as memory serves, that elevator has one of the loudest "dings" - if you are sound sensitive, be prepared]
As a reminder, please refrain from wearing scented perfumes, colognes, lotions etc. the day of the meeting. Many individuals with Lyme also deal with chemical sensitivities.
Contact number in the Oregon set above -- also to find out if there are any groups in Salem.
This is not too far from the Japanese Gardens and Washington Park. So if you can get to the meeting, it might be nice to take a side trip before or afterward. -

- Malia,
Be sure to log in so you can see your private messages. I just looked and it appears that you've not seen the names I sent to you. Hope you come back to get the detail you requested.
I did just close down my PM function, though. You can still read the message I sent but I don't have energy to privately converse so I usually keep it off. Hope you find the help you need. -
