You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
None in AL. They are far and few between, unfortunately. You need to go where they are.
Also, most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":

Hi Kaeli958, I have had lyme for over a decade and just moved to Alabama. My Lyme doc is in MO but they connected my with two LLMD in TN not far from me they are Dr. B and Dr. D in TN, however Dr.D has a waiting list to get in and isn't taking appointments till May 2016 but Dr. B is really cool and works with my entire team of docs and therapists.
I know that will be a ways for you to drive but that is just the only ones I know so I thought I'd throw it out there.
