I'm looking for a LLMD in Dallas Texas. I've been sick for over 15 years becoming increasing ill and nearly incapacitated. I have gone through so many different types of doctors to find out what is wrong with me. My new doctor is incredibly thorough and included a preliminary test for Lyme Disease (Lyme total antibody/combined IgG and IgM test for c6 peptide) and I tested very positive. I had many tick bites when I lived in Charlottesvilles Virginia from 1988 to 1991. Since then, I've lived in Dallas where none of my doctors, until now, thought to test for LD. My symptoms fit long term, untreated Lyme Disease, I need a doctor who can run the necessary tests to confirm and then treat me. I'd appreciate any help you can provide. I want to get my life back. I'm desperate. Thank you.

Welcome to Lymenet!

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/texaslyme

Maybe they can help you.

Some more resources for you (with Support Group info):
www.lyme-aware.org/texas.html
www.txlda.org

The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon.

View "Under Our Skin" for free on www.hulu.com

Btw - please break up your post into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.
