@hopingandpraying - thank you for the links. I unfortunately have a long history with Lyme, my sister does not and she doesn't understand the danger so she will not travel to see Dr H. I'm hoping to get a recommendation to a doctor close to her so the travel distance will not deter her.

I'm still hoping to get a recommendation to a doctor in eastern LI. My sister has had symptoms for more than 6 months so she is not 'early'. I know there are lots of Lyme doctors on LI but I live far from there so am not familiar. Thanks for any suggestions you have.

The reality is is that Lyme-literate doctors are far and few between, due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Many people travel, even out of state, to get the help they need.
Just because a doctor says he/she treats Lyme, does not make them "Lyme-literate". It take many years of experience along with patients who have gotten well to be designated a LLMD.
I am not aware of "lots of Lyme doctors on LI"!
Your sister's best bet is to contact the NY Lyme Support Groups. They would know which doctor to recommend.
