I just turned 60. I was finally diagnosed with Lyme disease earlier this year and started antibiotic therapy. I don't know if I have chronic LD or not, just UNTREATED LD--until now. I probably contracted it in the mid-to-late 2K's.
I've been treated by a great physician who I trust, but, who unfortunately, had to retire for his own health issues. He offered me some referrals, but I'm not sure. I had no idea what a political/theological mess this whole issue was within the medical-insurance-industrial complex.
I live in Alexandria, but am willing to travel. Any recommendations will be appreciated. I'd obviously like to find a Dr who takes insurance, but I know that may not be realistic.
