My son was diagnosed with Lyme at age 2 and went through extensive antibiotic treatment. After years of struggling with diagnosis of ADHD, GAD etc... And finding no help with meds or other treatments, we wondered if perhaps some of his difficulties represented possible Lyme related symptoms and returned to the same clinic for additional testing when he was 8. We were told very simply "no that can't be the problem". No other testing was offered/done and we were told that his initial Lyme diagnosis was "probably in error". We felt as though we were given the brush off and continued to pursue treatment for the non Lyme disorders. He is now 11 and symptoms include all those that go along with ADHD and GAD but also Lyme. We really just want answers so we can be sure we are getting him the help he truly needs.

Your dear son needs to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
They are far and few between, unfortunately. You need to go where they are.
Also, most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
Btw - please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.

Hello. Could I also get the info for a reputable LLMD in Minnesota. Just starting down this journey and it sounds like this is the first step I need to make. Thank you!

BreMarie - Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for MN.
It is recommended you write a new post instead of adding on to an existing one. That way, more people will see it and respond, since most people don't re-read old posts.
