I am desperate for answers about why I have been experiencing severe bouts of fatigue on and off for the past 2.5 years, leaving me bed - ridden for days at a time with a foggy, heavy head, headaches/head pressure, difficulty focusing and body aches/weakness.

I've been treated for Lyme disease with doxycycline when blood work revealed an "old" infection, but blood work isn't positive for Lyme now. In addition to several doctor visits with GP,

I went to an infectious disease specialist who didn't find anything in my bloodwork. Also a neurologist (had MRI of brain and lumbar puncture which both came back ok),and hematologist which showed all blood work normal.

Went to endocrinologist yesterday, have a sleep study scheduled and will also be seeing an allergist...looking for any answers and ruling out other possible issues.

Can't figure out why am I ALWAYS (it's progressed to everyday now when I used to have moments of feeling somewhat normal) feeling achy, heavy head, head pressure and fatigued with severe bouts of fatigue that are debilitating?

I feel like this is getting worse and I've gotten used to not feeling well all the time, with some days worse than others...this is my life now. This is no way to live.

My daily life is being greatly affected and I just want to be able to enjoy simple things with my kids again. I just want my energy back and to think clearly again.

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for CT.

I recommend you break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme.

To do this, click on the pencil/paper icon, make your changes, then click on "Edit Post". Thanks.

It would also be good for you to write a new post about your particular situation in the "Medical Questions" section. People will gladly give you advice and try to help.

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.

Here is a link for them:

Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are. I don't know of any on Long Island.

Also, most LLMDs do not take insurance due to the politics surrounding this disease. Read poster TF's explanation about this:

"Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance"
http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=025539;p=0

When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/NewYorkLyme/info

Maybe they can help.

Some more resources for you (including Support Groups info):
www.lyme-aware.org/new-york.html

Read the book written by Dr. H, the top Lyme-literate doctor, entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

Also "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon.
