A friend of mine was bitten last Fall had a bullseye and has

recently gotten a positive Lyme result from IGENEX. She was

treated initially (well 3 weeks post rash) at the local ER and has

resumed Doxy.

She has been having heart palpitations and had an abnormal EKG

this morning in a primary care doctors office. She is on the

waiting list for Dr.W but I don't think she should wait! She called

his office to get the name of a Dallas Cardiologist ( I know he has

one he recommends because he gave me a card in the past, I

can't find it ) and he wouldn't give it to her without seeing her

first.

She is seeing her moms Cardiologist Friday but has no idea

how he will react to the recent Lyme diagnoses and her

symptoms.

Does anyone have an open minded Cardiologist? I know Lyme

Literate is likely a stretch!

Please make sure your friend registers online at TXLDA.com, enters contact information, be sure to include tick bite and that she has a bulls eye. If IGENIX or CDC positive and also include location of tick bite in the comments section, zip code will do. All of this info will go a long way in helping TXLDA advocacy and show there are SICK ticks in Texas infecting people.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/TexasLyme/info

Maybe they can help.

Some more resources for her (including Support Groups info):

Can she travel out of state to see a LLMD? There is a good one who may be able to get her in within a few weeks.

Me, I think she will if she needs to. Will you PM me the LLMD? Have you seen them?

Make sure that she also gets a differential diagnosis for babesia - some of my first symptoms were not lyme - but babesia: heart palpitations, shortness of breath, anxiety, night sweats, heat intolerance, and dizziness upon standing (POTS).

A good clinician will treat for babesia even if blood testing is negative. In fact, I was in treatment for 9 months before I got a positive babesia test.

Good luck!
