Will travel anywhere within Ontario. Boyfriend and I have Lyme and co infections and no insurance. Local doctors refuse to help. To travel to the u.s and get prescriptions written out-of-province will cost us over $2000 a month for treatment, we are so ill we are barely able to work as it is and afford to live. Please help. Saw an ND in Ottawa but she cannot prescribe antibiotics, we need an MD

I suggest you contact the lyme support groups in Canada that are near you. See "Support Groups" on the left side of this page.
I am under the impression that you won't get help in Canada and that there really aren't any lyme doctors in Canada because the Canadian health system doesn't permit any doctors to treat lyme properly.
So, after you talk to the Ontario support group and some others, you may find out that you HAVE to travel to the U.S. I hope not, but if you do, here is a website that you should look at:
You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Btw - please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.
