Looking for top LLMD in country. I'm in Colorado, but folks on this website say to look outside of state. I don't want to waste time on a doc who's not good.

The top lyme docs are not taking new patients.
There is one who MAY take you as a patient. She picks and chooses who she takes. If she takes you, first appointment will be in about 6 months.
So, is this what you want or are you willing to see a GOOD doctor who can see you quickly?
You always have to wait, wait, wait to get in with the top doctors. People have to go to someone lower on the totem pole while they wait to get in with a top doctor.
So, tell us what you want.

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are. At least half of all Lyme patients travel out of state for their care.
Most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
I was told doctors in CO do not treat aggressively enough, because CO is extremely tough on any doctor who does. The medical board is relentless on them. Posters on Lymenet from CO recommend going out-of-state to see a LLMD.
When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.
The top Lyme doctor is Dr.H in NY, but he is not taking any more new patients and has a very, very long waiting list (I don't know if he is even accepting any more patients for the list!).
