My 14 year old son has been struggling with Lyme for a year. We are seeing LLD in PA - Dr. B. Only treating with oral antibiotics and homeopathic supplements. He is not getting any better.

We are currently in Germany trying ozone therapy, biophoton therapy and detox. Unsuccessful thus far.

Looking for a second opinion regarding treatment once we return to US. We live outside of Philadelphia and willing to travel!!

Please help!
Thank you!

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for PA, MD & CT.

Here are some quotes from old posts about NJ:

"There are NO good LLMD's in NJ. NJ is a wasteland of bad docs. I can tell you from years of experience, unless you go with an established doc (of which there are only a few on the east coast) you will get undertreated and continue to relapse.

PLEASE TAKE MY ADVICE. NJ is a bad place for ticks and a bad place for tick doctors."

"The LLMDs in NJ are not very good based on patients' experiences. People start with them then end up going to see other LLMDs out-of-state."

"Over the years, the folks in New Jersey have said that the best Lyme doctors are not there."

"I strongly suggest that you be willing to travel outside of New Jersey to get good treatment."

"There are Lyme doctors in the area you have named, but I don't recommend any of them. To get a good Lyme specialist, you will have to be willing to travel. At least half of all Lyme patients go out of state for their care."

Your son needs to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.

Here is a link for them:

LLMDs are far and few between, unfortunately. He needs to go where they are.

Also, most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":

When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.

Maybe they can help.

Read the books written by the top LLMD, Dr. H, titled, "Why Can't I Get Better?" and his new one, "How Can I Get Better?". They are an excellent source of information.

Read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Get it at your local library or buy it used on Amazon.

I recommend a very good doctor near Washington, D.C. He follows Burrascano, meaning high-dose combinations of antibiotics.

People from Florida, New Mexico, Texas, Ontario, NY, Ohio, etc. are coming to see him and all like him. He is getting folks well.

Let me know if you want the name. You only have to appear in person once every 3 months. You can do telephone appointments the other 2 months.

He takes patients over age 11, so he will see your son. And, there is no wait to get in.

I believe he could help your son. Try doctors who use different protocols or doctors with more and more expertise. Educate yourself on these diseases and the various protocols.

I got well in spite of having gone undiagnosed for at least 10 years. (It is now 12 years since I completed my treatment.) And, then I sent 5 of my friends to Burrascano type doctors and they also got well.

This is why I believe in the Burrascano protocol. He was the most successful lyme doctor in the world before he retired. People came from every country in the world to be his patient.

You can read his protocol here:
