I was diagnosed with Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever the end of March. I was put on doxicycline and sent home.
I have searched for a lyme literate doctor since the diagnosis to no avail.
I have had numerous infections since the diagnosis 2 sinus and 4 UTI infections and prescribed doxy again for 5 of the infections. Along with the infections I have had headaches, severe lack of energy, and nausea among other issues.
My dermatologist emphatically told me to see a specialist at a major medical center. I cannot find a specialist!
I also have numerous autoimmune problems including psoriatic arthritis, am under the care of a rheumatologist and am on Enbrel.

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for MD, DC, FL, & VA.
You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between, so you need to go where they are. At least half of all Lyme patients travel out-of-state for treatment. None in SC.
Also, most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
Read the books written by the top LLMD, Dr. H, titled, "Why Can't I Get Better?" and "How Can I Get Better?". They are an excellent source of information.
Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon.
