I hope someone can help with providing the name of docs who treat neuropsych symptoms of late and or chronic lyme disease ( had it over 40 yrs). I've got problems that need to be addressed however finding a compassionate LLMD skilled in treating these symptoms seems to be more than I can do right now. I know I can bow down to the medical establishment and end up the proverbial zombie but I'd appreciate the opportunity to actually get better. I'm located in the southeastern part of the USA. Thanks!

Welcome to Lymenet!

So sorry you are going through this. You've come to the right place and we will try to help you all we can.

I don't know which state you are in, so check the state Lyme Support Groups which are in this link:

http://whatislyme.com/websites-and-support-groups-by-state/

Maybe they can help you.

I don't have the name of a LLMD who fits your requirements as far as neuropsych treatment goes in the southeast

The top LL Psychiatrist,Dr. B in NJ, has a lifetime of experience treating neuropsychiatric Lyme and is one of the major authorities on it. He will treat psychological problems from Lyme, but not Lyme itself.

Call him to ask if he can refer you to someone.

Here are two links for more info:
"The Psychoimmunology of Lyme and Associated Diseases":

https://lymediseaseassociation.org/lda-conferences/lda-conf-2017/2017-faculty-bios-talk-summaries/bransfield-robert/

"Lyme Disease & the Brain":

https://lymeconnection.org/support_and_resources/meet_the_lyme_disease_experts.html/title/dr-robert-bransfield-lyme-disease-and-the-brain-

Read the books written by the top LLMD, Dr. H titled, "Why Can't I Get Better?" and "How Can I Get Better?". They are an excellent source of information.

Btw - I know you are new to Lymenet, but please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme.

To do this click the 'Edit Post" tab, make your changes, then click "Edit Post" at the bottom. Thanks.

Hi mindlessmind

So happy you found Lymenet!
Lyme members love to give back to other sufferers of Tick Borne Infections through their first-hand experiences.

You can request a LLMD through ILADS ( International Lyme and Associated Dieseases Society) here;
https://www.ilads.org/patient-care/provider-search/

You can request a LLMD through Global Lyme Alliance here;
https://globallymealliance.org/education-awareness/find-medical-professional/

These are simple E-mail formats that you fill out and they will respond to your request. There is a message box where you can request a LLMD that specializes in Neuro/Psychriatric aspects of TBI's.

Be sure to research each LLMD.
To do this, Google for patient reviews or connect with your area's local Lyme support groups.

Watch "Uner Our Skin", a movie about the struggles Lyme patients face while trying to get diagnosised and finding treatment;
