I'm seeking a LLMD doctor near Chicago, IL.
I'm an adult who has had Lyme-like symptoms for 5+ years (with symptom onset after hiking in Minnesota). I've seen dozens of doctors and specialists over the years, and the more common causes of my symptoms have been ruled out. I'd like to see a doctor who would seriously consider Lyme.

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are. At least half of all patients go out-of-state to get proper treatment.
Also, most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
Read the books written by the top LLMD, Dr. H titled, "Why Can't I Get Better?" and "How Can I Get Better?". They are an excellent source of information.
Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Get it at your local library or buy them used online.
Btw - I know you are new to LymeNet, but you should not use your real name, because this is a public forum with all sorts of people on it. Read this link about it:
These are simple e-mail formats that you fill out and they respond with LLMD’s closest to you . It is important that you research all LLMD’s that are referred to you. To do this, google for patient reviews or join your local Lyme Support Group for feedback.
