How do I prepare for our first attorney appointment?
I've had LD for 21 years (bite, rash in 1983) but it wasn't even a consideration for the duration of my illness. WB was positive in late July of 2004. I won't bother with the extent of my suffering and injuries. Read any page in Karen Vanderhoof-Forschner's book.
My husband's WB was also positive in September of 2004. We're guessing he's had it for 3 years. Cardiac manifestations, joint/muscle pain and fatigue. He urged the cardiologist to test him for LD, but in the end, he had to go elsewhere to be tested.
Our son was diagnosed with congenital LD in mid August of 2004, just a few days before his 8th birthday. He's doing fabulous, by the way. He's exceeded everyone's expectations. His (ex) doctors at a large facility told us he was autistic when he was 4 years old . . . http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/Forum3/HTML/010735.html
We all sought health care at the same facility, and my son and I have permanent injuries. The most recent in terms of injury? I lost 2 front teeth last week. Unexplainably so. I do not have cavities, nor do I have gum disease.
Anyone have suggestions, thoughts or experience?
This will be a monumental case. I promise you. Res lpsa Loquitur.

BB, not sure I can offer any help, but I do pray you are successful...I am just hoping that my daughter can someday be well, or mostly well and go back to tell the Ducks how they messed up her life..
I think anytime you try to sue it does worry our dedicated llmd's..They are afraid it will cause more witch hunts so tread lightly..

Thank you very much for the encouragement, and I pray your daughter will be well some day, too. Our case won't 'rock the boat' with LLMDs, nor will it stir up a witch hunt. In our situation, there just aren't any witches to look for.
We aren't surging forward for monetary gain. But we must chip away at the doctors who mismanaged our diseases so horribly. The same way we chip away at lyme disease itself -- one, tiny piece at a time.

Thank you very much for the information. It was very, very helpful. It was reassuring to read I've been approaching this in the correct manner. Taking notes. Keeping journals. Writing letters. Asking questions. Filing formal complaints. Hitting high. Hitting low. Gently. They have no awareness of having been 'hit.'
Somehow I've managed to remain composed and . . . reasonable.
I'll keep in touch.

try this link; it's disability insurance issues but there are attorneys who have posted sites on here....I think you might be able to get some very valuable info there.
This entire site above is a MUST READ if you are/have filed for SSI or SSDisability insurance apps!
What I like about the links site...it has a brief statements what EACH link is covering so you don't waste your time.
If I come across anything else, I'll email you. Betty G., Iowa
