Hey folks, I am very interested in starting a Lyme support group in the Corpus Christi, Texas area. I know there are a few folks with the disease that are here in the general vicinity. Flash discussion might be the best place to get in touch with these folks.

I will try to get a LLMD or practitioner to help us out at first.

Please call if you are interested. I need you just as much as you might need me.

I will try to arrange for it at my home or church but there won't be any preaching at the church unless everyone agrees. Maybe some praying, but I am sure we all do that now anyway. Just the same wonderful lovely folk that have this ridiculous ailment.

Fun, goofiness, talking about what works and what doesn't for you. Shoulders to lean on and most of all, support for those who do not get the support needed.

I am also on a mission. I have been off of work for just under a year now. I used to write scientific papers, keeping my mind occupied, and also working in the field as a wildlife biologist. That is where i picked up the nasty little critter.

Can I count on you to help me make some type of contribution.

I understand the Lyme Disease Foundation has an info packet on starting support groups. Might want to look into it at http://www.lyme.org/

There's more to this than just gathering folks in a room for a period of time. Group dynamics, that sort of thing. Structure, or lack of it. Making sure the leader has back up so the whole burden does not fall on one person.

Thank you Lou. I will download the packet. I understand that it will be an undertaking but I am up for it, and if we can just get people in to start talking about it, then we can set our goals. I looked up the self help support group at LDF and once i hear of folks that are interested, hopefully we can get something going.
So once again, anybody in the Corpus Christi area interested, please email me.
Loretta
