there are two products from American Livestock that I use and they got rid of the ticks. You can use as a premise spray or under the house but not IN the house. ONE you can use in the house but I forget which read the label.
One is called Pest Tab. It dissolves in your sprayer to make, I belive, one gallon of spray. You get six for about 6 bucks.
the other is called...something like IG Regulator. it is a concentrated liquid. COMBINED they take out almost everything including ticks and their eggs It is good odorless and lasts for 3 months. I used it on the perimeter of the yard, in the old dog pen, under the house. ONE TIME. Never have seen another tick. And we were getting them in the house.
ALso sprayed under our out buildings and no ticks on the cats or horses.
we live in a non-endemic area, if there is such a thing, in the NC foothills.
There were sure ticks when we got here, and after having the professionals come we stilll had them. SO I looked into it and these two products will treat the whole place for about 25 bucks.
I think American Livestock has a webstite and you could just look under fly control. It has the product in it that is rec to kill ticks...
also on sale this month is Permethrin a QT for 9.99 makes like 200 gallons of spray. Use it like you would that stripe on stuff for cats dogs horses etc. It keeps all fleas and ticks off. IF they do attach it kills them. IF you are in a real bad area you can also spray your jeans and shoes with it let it dry for two hours at least. It is good for two weeks even thru washings.
Make sure you mix it to .05% it is very concentrated. also a good premise spray. it is synthetic pyrethrin which comes from a flower.
I used that and DEET up on Cape Cod and never got a tick on me and up there they are everywhere. We were ALWAYS outside...the army tested this its 99% effective. TOm Grier has a great article posted somewhere about it.
anyway. stay tickfree
and NO I do not get a kick back from American Livestock for letting you in on this.
