Hi everyone and happy 4th of july...

I wrote this post in the medical forum but nobody is answering my post so i thought i'd try here.

Do you get heartburn/indigestion while on high doses of antibiotics...ive had heartburn for 2 days now and its horrible. Its so bad i thought i was having a heart attack, but thats unlikely since im 19 and in good shape lol.

I was wondering if this happened to anyone else while on the abx and what you did for it or what you asked your doctor for to help it out.

Thanks
Korinne

Do you take any oral abx or supplements in addition to the IV Rocephin?

Is the heartburn constant or does it have a pattern?

When I took doxy I irritated my esophagus because I didn't drink liquid after I took it to flush it all the way to my stomach. After I corrected my mistake it took a week for my esophagus to stop hurting. It felt like I had burned it, constantly.

Hey janet...

Yeah i take zithromax as an oral ABX 250 mgs.

The heartburn keeps coming and going, but it hurts soooo bad! i wish it would go away because its making my apetite go away

When you take zithro do you first eat a fair amount and then flush the pill thru the esophagus into the stomach with some liquid? Also, might help if you don't lie down for 30 -60 minutes after taking orals.

I made all these mistakes with doxy which is especially caustic. I don't know about Zithro.
