Yikes! I hear ya and wish I could help! I've been disabled for 11 yrs now and I remember the panic of going thru that, wondering how we'd survive financially.
I hope someone here can offer you suggestions. My disability was thru teacher retirement, and was completely different from applying thru Social Security.
Do you have an insurance policy for disability?

You have one thing on your side-I see you live in New York. So some of the best LLMDs are nearby (nearby could be a 4-5 hr drive).
I don't know your history. Did you have a tick bite or bull's eye? What (exactly) Lyme tests have been done?
How long do you think you've had Lyme?
Did you go to www.canlyme.com and quantitate your symptoms? 20 or more is a serious potential for Lyme.
How are you doing with the doxy & how much are you taking? Some doxy cautions: 1-stay out of the sun 2-Have food in the stomach before taking 3-follow with a glass of liquid 4-don't lay down for 30-60 minutes after taking doxy.
Tomorrow you should get on the phone and try to get an appt with a LLMD ASAP. If you email me I have some names.
Which doc prescribed the doxy and why? Do you think that doc would order antibody tests for Babesia microti, Bartonella hensalae and both Ehrlichas-HME & HGE?

The newest issue of Lyme Times has an article on disability claims. You can either subscribe, or order single issues. Can google the newsletter, and read past issues in archives. Good stuff.
There is also a disability forum. Maybe someone will come along with the URL.

I'm sorry to hear you're having financial challenges on top of medical ones -- just know there are plenty around here who understand that scenario...so you're not alone.
I don't have any answer for you, other than to gently remind you to BREATHE.
I'm not sure about your spiritual beliefs, but if I could share mine, I would just suggest that you remember that your true Source of All Good is not an employer, or a social service agency, a governmental agency, etc. Our One True Source is All Powerful and Eternal.
I know that thought may not put food on the table, but sometimes it helps just to relax into that belief and trust that all is in Divine Order -- even when we don't understand or agree....and that's where Faith comes in.
My positive thoughts & prayers are with you.
Hang in there!
Blessings,
