My gynecologist seems to think I might have cervical cancer. I am being optimistic and thinking it just a "lyme thing". However, a few prayers wouldn't hurt. I have the biopsy Wed. afternoon. Hiker

Hiker,

I doubt you'll read this until after your appointment, depending on where you live, etc.

By way of possible encouragement, I was tested twice by the gyn for cancer -- the first endometrial and the second cervical.

Both tests were done pre-Lyme dx, and both were negative.

It's not the easiest procedure, so if you haven't already gone, I'd recommend something for pain -- whatever works for you. I think I took ibuprofen.

My thoughts and prayers will be with you!

Andie

Thanks for your prayers. The biopsy went smoothly--no pain at all. I won't get the results for a few days, but I am confident all will be normal. Hiker

When I had a bad, bad pap a cone biopsy was done-it had clear margins and years later I carried a child, no problem. As it was explained to me a cone shaped piece of my cervix was cut away.

There was a good bit of pain for 1-2 days but after that I never missed it.

Perhaps that is something for you to ask about.

Maybe ask a second doctor, or a third.

I am not a doctor and this is not medical advice but only my personal experience and opinion.
