Hi all,

Need some help here. I have never had stomach issues on nearly 3 years of oral antibiotics. I began bicillin 3 weeks ago. Since the very first dose I have had nausea and diarrhea the next morning after the bicillin. The diarrhea only lasts about an hour and then I have no further problems until the next morning, when this cycle starts all over again. I am currently on 2 bicillin shots per week.
LLMD also wants me on omnicef and biaxin. Anyone else develop stomach issues when beginning bicillin. I thought bicillin was a good choice if you had stomach issues to begin with???

Hi Ren,

I have a reaction like what you describe when I have Rocephin shots, like an instant intolerance from my bowel, but usually it gets better after some days. I have checked on my meds guide, they don't speak of anything of this type for bicillin. Have you tried cleansing your liver? Maybe it is upset by the product and releases a big amount of bile in reaction, which can induce nausea and diarrhea.

I notice that I have a GI herx from the bicillin(loose stools, lots of rumbling) and then the GI stuff is much better. I think the bicillin kills the lyme in the GI tract even though you don't swallow it. I think it even works better than zithromax for that.

Well Rene I'm so glad you posted that question. Very sorry to hear of the nausea and diarrhea. I have never heard of that happening, but perhaps this is a herx!!!!

Sometimes after taking my Ketek I have rumbling and some real nasty gas [Roll Eyes] (i know too much info) But not every day.........I'm doing bicillin 3x a week and I never had this symptom before while taking Ketek with other abx. Also took zith with ceftin and mepron.

I have bart too.....but when i started levaquin just by itself, i had terrible white hot poker pain in my stomach 4 hours after first pill. After taking a 2 week break and starting back at half a tab of levaquin, i still had minor pain, but it got much better in a few days.

I had to stop after 2 weeks, i got the tendon pain really bad in my knees.

NEVER had any issues with stomach or diahrhea. So of course I'm thinking gee I have a cast iron stomach. [Big Grin] [Big Grin] ......well up until the Levaquin that is!!!!!!!

THIS ALL MAKES SO MUCH SENSE!!......WOW, 40% is absorbed by the gut?.....YES!!!

So for now Ketek and bicillin......which is producing such wonderful herxes!!!!!!!!!! I think we will be trying Rifampin in a month or so cause we have to get the Bartonella.... [cussing]

Gail
