I think I have developed thrush, thrash, thumb..whatever it is.
Feels like a film is covering inside cheeks, tight pull in corners, a few areas of white stuff under tongue and along side by teeth.
I do have alot of bridgework..latest involved removal of upper 4 front teeth and lower right 3 all because of bone infection in 2003.
Lots of various abx since original lyme diagnosis in 2000. Last 4 months on Cipro to chase bartonella.
My lyme dr. is off work due to surgery and I will not see him til Aug 14th. I know I could call my dentist, but came to this forum first.
Can anyone relate to this??? PLEASE tell me if my diagnosis sounds correct and what can I do??
Even gargling with listerine burns inside my cheeks so badly, I have to spit it out.
HELP-HELP-HELP...this new side-step has only aggravated the other pains, etc, etc, etc.

THankyou....

Thrush is easily treated with apple cidar vinegar rinses. We did this with our babies whenever they developed the condition. We started with diluted solution then gradually built up strength. Just be sure to have apple cidar vinegar not apple flavored cidar vinegar. There is a world of difference!
Good luck.

Yep, sounds like thrush. That means you have it all the way down...so you better get after the diet as well.

Do you have a PCP who would prescribe some Diflucan?? I imagine that Cipro did a number on you. I'm so sorry you're SO miserable!

Candida diet and elimination:

Lyme symptoms list compared with yeast symptoms
http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/Forum1/HTML/021202.html

"Successful control and elminiation of a Candida Albicans overgrowth requires a multifaceted program as described below. Failure to follow ALL the steps simultaneously will result in slow progress and will lengthen healing time significantly. The program should be tailored to the individual and must balance the need to eliminate the Candida and deprive it of its food source while insuring proper nutrition for the individual."

Five Steps to Candida Elimination:

1. You must starve it into submission by eliminating its food source.

2. You must kill it with anti-fungal herbs and supplements. [e.g....garlic, onion, caprylic acid, Pau D'Arco capsules or tea, clove, grapefruit seed extract, olive leaf extract, oil of oregano, tea tree oil, Echinacea, Goldenseal, black walnut, MSM, barberry root, uva ursi, neem leaf, biotin]

3. You must reestablish the proper balance and quantity of probiotic bacteria in the digestive tract. [...multi-strain lactobacillus acidophilus and bifidus capsules with FOS should be taken between meals to maximize repopulation of the digestive tract by beneficial bacteria.]

4. You must reestablish proper levels of all B vitamins (yeast free) and utilize other immune enhancing supplements to boost immune system function. [e.g ... B complex vitamins (yeast free), biotin, beta 1-3 glucan, colostrum, maitake mushroom, vitamins A, C, E, zinc and selenium]

5. You must cleanse and heal the digestive tract to promote proper elimination of toxins and Candida and assimilation of nutrients. [e.g...chlorophyll, MSM, omega 3 fatty acids found in flax seed and salmon oils, GLA found in borage, evening primrose and black currant oils. Pantothenic acid, digestive enzymes between meals]

weak solutions of 1 part clorox and 4 parts water
scrape tongue with tongue scraper from cvs.
on heavy trush i use the side of a knife and scrape it several times a day.
also now awailable for your entertainment, miniture rzors called bikini razors for bikini areas work etremely well in mouth because it is half the size of a regular razor and won't gag you.
yes, you can shave your tongue just don't shave to skin,no bleeding just get the long papilla, hairs growing on the back of the toungue.
mycolex lozenge 4 times a day also works, helps.

I've done the clorox rinse that docdave, suggested. Be careful and somewhere...maybe in Dr B's huidleines are directions for doing it.

The apple cider vinegar sounds a very good idea and if you can give it to babies...

A very important part is to empty a probiotic capsule into your mouth afterwards, you can just swish it around with water. And/or eat some plain yogurt (can even add more probiotic, to that). You want to repopulate with good bacteria as much as possible ao the thrush has less place to live.

The New Silver Solution works great for Thrush, Tooth Decay and Pain, Yeast Infections elsewhere, and a lot of other infections; urinary tract infections, general well being, as well as malaria, molds, insect bites. If you order it anywhere, have them send you the booklet describing all the uses, etc. It is not expensive. It is becoming a standby in our house.

Biopure carries it. 1-800-801-6187.www.biopureus.com.

Take care.
