I realized that I left one very important thing out of my message last week. I have received many, many responses from my first post, and I don't mean to be shoving suggestions in everyone's faces, but I feel so strongly about the things that I know work.
Firstly, a very important thing to do is to go to the drug store and buy an $8 pack of litmus strips. One thing about Lyme Disease (and cancer for that matter), is that it needs an acidic environment to flourish.
This is one of the reasons why doctors tell you to stay away from sugars and caffeine. Many of you who test may find that your strips are red, which means that your system is overly acid. The strips should be greenish.
There are many foods that are alkalyne, like celery. There are supplements out there that can do the same.
This is so very important, and so easy to do. It can be done in conjunction with your meds, if you wish to stay on them.
One other thing that is important in this whole Lyme fiasco is the fact that rocephin is so dangerous to our gallbladders. The thing that saved me from having to have my gallbladder removed at age 22 was that when the docs found my gallbladder was full, I did a liver cleanse.
I was told by my doctors that the only way, after so much damage from rocephin, to rid myself from a risk of an attack, was to have the surgery. This was not an option for me.
Again, ...I am NOT a doctor, and don't wish to give anybody "medical" advice, but a liver cleanse is something that can be done which clears us of gall stones in the gall bladder and liver( most gall stones live in the liver and are deep hosts for bacteria, namely spirochites.)
After I did the liver cleanse, I went back for another ultrasound and needless to say, baffled my doctors. They told me it was not possible. It was possible.
I did it in my house...mixed my three ingredients, had a little discomfort for a day, and was on my way.
I'm not putting in here how it is done, b/c I don't want to be responsible for any controversy, but I can tell anyone where to get the recipe. This is stuff doctors don't tell you. This is why I get upset with doctors.
...please write if you'd like the name of the book with the recipe.

The study that is often cited to claim that IV Rocephin found that 2% of people treated for Lyme with IV Rocephin developed gallbladder symptoms.
Many doctors now prescribe Actigall to protect the gallbladder while on IV Rocephin. There are people on this board who have said they have seen improvement in gallbladder function with milk thistle, which also protects the liver.
If you use the search function, you can find lots of information on gallbladder cleanses available on this site.
