I wasn't going to post this, but it really bothers me.

This little girl had Attention Deficit Disorder, as well as Bipolar. Her older siblings also have ADD.

quote:

Both were unemployed; they collected welfare and disability benefits and lived in subsidized housing. Michael Rile...claimed to suffer from bipolar disorder and a rage disorder; his wife told police she suffered from depression and anxiety.

I see Lyme everywhere.

Dear Carol,

How tragic! What two year old gets dx. with bipolar disorder.

What kind of winners were her parents?

I pray that this beautiful little girl is at peace, being held by Angels who are rocking her to sleep.

Hugs,

Geneal

It is too, too common for kids to be labeled with psychiatric "disorders" and then be put onto psychotropic drugs.

Lyme may be a factor here; but it is too easy to stick a label on a child and push a pill into their mouth.

Childhood behavior is now classified as disease!

The DSM is nothing but a list of symptoms, collected up with a billing code and catchy name attached.

That is a REALLY, REALLY sad story. That poor child!

I think a lot of heads will roll on this one!

Makes you wonder if the whole family doesn't have lyme.

Exactly.
Lyme can cause anxiety, depression, bipolar, and flash anger, in addition to attention deficit.

What I see are two people who were given the biggest responsibility in the world and no way of pulling it off.

I see a couple who are illiterate and substance abusers who used prescribed drugs to keep their kids quiet.

I see a father that should have been removed from the home when the molestation charges were filed and not allowed to return until he was cleared.

I see a doctor and pharmacist who have a lot of questions to answer.

The saddest part here for me is it was the tax payers dollars that allowed the parents to kill her.

I hope the poor thing has found peace in the arms of the angels. How sad.

Me on the other hand see overdiagnosis and overmedication, that's what killed that girl.

Sure it is....but WHAT IF she had undiagnosed Lyme disease and all of this could have been avoided?

Either way, it's extremely unfortunate.
