I just received word that Betty is being discharged from the hospital tomorrow afternoon after her hip replacement on Monday!
She will have visiting nurses at home for a bit and then will start intensive physical therapy at a facility near her home.
She says the only problem she is having is getting her new hip to move the way she wants it to. (I could make a joke here but I'll restrain myself...lol) I'm still amazed at how well she did and how quickly they are letting her go home.
Please post your thoughts to her here. She will eventually be able to read them and I know she will love getting well wishes.
My best to you, Janet

WooHoo, Betty! Way to go! Welcome home and may the recovery be speedy.
The movement restrictions are for a certain period of time. (Um, can't remember how long and mom's had this done twice. 3 Months maybe?) Anyhoo, after that you can use it as you please.
I do remember after mom had the first hip replacement done her first comment about it was, "Wow, that awful pain is gone; why did I wait so long?".
Good riddence to hip pain and do what the PT tells you like a good girl, ok?

To my dear friend Betty: Glad that surgery went well and you are progressing. Rest up so that when you have your sessions in Physical therapy that you do well and continue to progress. Hope that you had a great weekend.
