Dear Kam,

I was lucky enough to take my two children (who turned into two monsters) to Walmart this am.

I believe they should hand out valium for all of the mothers trying to negotiate that store with children.

We came home, played outside....I did laundry (did not want to.....had to!)

Fixed dinner....visited my neighbor (who also has Lyme) and now am trying to

get my monsters, I mean children, into a bath and hopefully off to bed.

I have had it. My feet hurt so bad they feel like someone has been beating them with a stick.

Hope you are doing well. Thinking of you daily.

Sending you prayers and hugs,

Geneal

[shake] OK I am trying this again. The first try the computer gave me the lexplorer error and kicked me back to the desk top. I had to log in again to lymenet.

Glad it is coming Dave. [spinning smile]

The Green Mile. That was a strange one. [puke]

Dana...things could be worse and things go be better eh? Glad to hear I am not alone when it comes to such an exciting life. [Cool]

I ran into my old primary doctor while out in my power chair with Rosie this evening. My brain couldn't not click in enough to have a good conversation with her. It was just trying to recall what her name was..so sad.

Rosie and I had our morning outing. Then, I plugged the power chair in to recharge.

The senior van picked me up and I took the paper work to the senior apartments in my power chair.

I was approved for section 8 housing, but don't know if this is going to be OK or not. One moment I think it will be OK and I can see myself at the new place and the next moment I can't imagine trying to move.

Sadness is in my day alot now. Trying to figure out why and over come it. Think it is just part of this and possibly because I no longer feel like a truck ran me over anymore. I am starting to come out of this but something else is going on now with emotions and moods.

Plugged my power chair back in when I returned. Went to the dog park in the evening with Rosie.

Barely made it home in the power chair. The red light was flashing and I was going slower than I would be if I could walk. Glad I made it home.

The indoor chair just doesn't hold a charge like my outdoor chair did. It is not made to travel outdoors like I have been using it.

Got a call from someone regarding the hearing for ketek. They left a message saying they were going to send me what they sent the judge. Thinking this is all a waste of time.

Thought I need to contact the infectious disease doc the insurance referred me to again to see where he stands with lyme disease.

Sent him a letter and his office just requested my records from my primary. No response to whether or not he can help and if the trip down the hill is going to be worth it.

Need to contact the primary docs office down the hill to see if they treat lyme disease with long term abx.

I called them when I heard there was a doc who took my insurance and treated lyme. Spoke to nurse and she spoke to doc. She said he said he has two patients now with lyme disease. I was too low functioning to push it and ask more.

Need to call my lyme doc and make an appointment.
I called them and left a message. They called me and left a message.

Are you asleep yet?

I was able to put a couple of towels away today and wash a blanket today and hang it up to dry over the shower rack.

It is so dry here that things dry quickly.

I also was able to put a couple of kitchen towels away.

The clean laundry stack is still very large.

The senior van driver had to fill out the check for me to pay for the ride to the senior apartments.

The manager at the apartments filled out some of the forms for me. I filled out some of them over the weekend.

I had trouble signing my name on several of the forms.

It is a step by step process. STill not sure I am moving. Next step is to find out just how much rent is going to be. Section 8 said they can't really tell me until all the paper work is in.

They gave me a rough idea but I am not sure I heard or processed it correctly.

I also need to find about 4 forms or documents: 2 for the senior apartment manager. three for section 8. And I would like to find the disability papers for work so I can see when I filed the claim.

A lot going on in my head. I have trouble with paper work. It is all in boxes. Haven't been able to set up files since 2001.

I had some excedrin extra strength so I am running amuck on the keyboard.

NO way could I say all of this in person.

Conversation with past primary doc was...how are you doing?

Me: OK

Did you find a doctor to help you.

Me: No

I couldn't even get a sentence out. The multi tasking of sitting upright in the power chair and moving along with Rosie and then stopping when she stopped to talk in her car and me trying to make the brain connections of who this person was...was so slow.

Luckily, there was a car behind her that she was blocking in the middle of the street so that was an out.

This doc had helped me until the insurance found out she was working with my lyme doc. Then they wanted me to see an ID and stopped all treatment until I saw there ID.

It also was time to renew or change insurances. I choose to change insurances. But, I am back in the same boat.

I actually am able to be more among the living now but am feeling sadness more now. Can't seem to figure out why. [loco] [shake] [shake] [shake]

kam,

I actually had a good day for myself.

You should be proud of yourself because you always do what you can. You also encourage others to forge ahead and I admire that about you.

Better days are ahead for you. When you put all you did today in list form you will notice you did quite a lot.

I look forward to reading about the adventures you have with Rosie.

Kam if you qualify for section 8 housing
medicare and medicaid should pay for a new chair.
call a company from tv and have them come out and get you qualified.
they love to sell chairs so they will do anything
to get you qualified.
if not call your local state representative
to help you with the chair and also you disability from california.
they all have medical division set up to help
with insurance issues.

lets get this ball rolling , i'll help if need be.

I forgot to tell you about Rosie's adventures in the soccer field.

I let her off leash this am while going through the park area...we go through one baseball field and one soccer field.

She did fine this am. No one was around.

ON our evening outing, it looked like no one was around. I let her off leash at the ball field. She did fine. We then went around the small soccer field as there were a few players.

Then down the sidewalk towards the large soccer field...no dogs aloud on this field.

Rosie can't read. There were two different sets of kids practicing and parents in chairs on the field watching.

Rosie ran like a deer bouncing from one end of the field to the other.

I pretended i didn't know whose dog that was.

Just kidding.

I stayed on the sidewalk with my power chair and she finally came after I called a few times.

I leashed her back up and off we went.

Doc Dave....covered all those resources. Dead ends.

Note: the ads you see on the TV are not good power chairs either.

The one for the Grand Canyon..Hoover Round...not recommended by people who deal with power chairs for years.

I agree. I borrowed one when my old Jazzy was broke down and it was not a good chair for me.

The low end invacare chairs they show on TV. NOt good. I tried to trade it for repairs on my old Jazzy or put it on consignment at the power chair store and he said he would not take that chair if I gave it to him. He will not sell them in his store or recommend them to people.

I also have driven about 3 other types of power chairs too. Rented one when I first came down sick for a month. Can't recall what all the others were, but they were not good for me.

A lady who has limited mobility received a high end Invacare Chair last year.

I took it for a test drive. It was great. IT supported my body. I could fully recline in it as if I was sitting in my recliner with my legs up.

When I went to the MObility store when I first moved here he recommended a chair like that for me.

HE had a used one he was working at getting back on line.

STill expensive even used. I just keep hoping I will get well enough I will out grow a power chair. It will have been 6 years in Oct. [shake]

Geneal,

My attention span at Walmart is very limited too before I start to act out. HA!

Something about the lightening, etc. in that place.

I wonder if it is affecting your kids too.

Sounds like your bath need a feet too.

Oops. your feet need a bath too.

I hope by now it is quiet and peaceful for you. [Wink]

Doc Dave,

One of my experiences with calling a guy from a TV ad resulted in them trying to sale me a chair at $300 a month for 4 or 5 years.

Unbelievable.

It was just like the car dealers. One guy hooks you.

Then calls another guy who talks to you on the phone.

Then another guy talks to you.

It was so sad. I wondered about elderly people being taken advantage of.

I also tried a couple of the other TV ads and was told that I could not get a power chair through the state's insurance.

Doc Dave, I have been dealing with the power chair issue since 2001. But, it was not until 2005 that I finally had the brains to figure out the different kinds of chairs and which chair I needed.

The one that would help me the most is very costly...even used.

So, my best bet is to just get the old Jazzy fixed up that was donated to me by an attorney with AL's disease.

He had just gotten a new and improved power chair that he could fully recline in. He gave me the one he had been using the past 9 years or so.

He was a disability attorney before getting ALS.

A company that sold Jazzy's connected me to him.

I did get an invacare M71 from the state's insurance in CA right before i moved to AZ.

Finally got the right medical supply place and the right doctor to fill out paper work.

But, the medical supply place did not follow through on what the doctor recommended nor did they even evaluate me as I later learned they were supposed to.

They were going out of business and just came up with a chair they had on hand at the time. It is better than not having a chair at all.

It works indoors OK. And I am noticing I am not having to be in it indoors as much as when I first moved here.

Good thing. Because it needs so much charging during the day and night. If I just use it for an hour, it needs charging for a long time before it can be used again.

I keep thinking of selling it to pay for the repairs on the Jazzy, but am not sure that is the answer at this time.

It is fairly new and the Jazzy is very old. The next thing that could go wrong with it is the motor or something else.

And, the insurance may pay for batteries and repairs on the invacare is something goes wrong with it. I don't know yet.

Ok. A new day. Tuesday I think. What's on your agenda for the day?

I have water therapy this am.

A primary doctor's appointment right after to see about getting some imitrex or something to help with that unbearable head stuff that happens now and then and I think the only answer is to die during those times.

It is cloudy out. Heard it was going to drop to the 50's here soon for a few days. It has been in the high 70's or low 80's lately.

Also hope to get to the pharmacy to pick up the new sleeping meds the doc scripted for me and hope they work.

I just have one lunesta pill left. Sure wish the insurance would provide them. They work.

LOL. Yes. I had the same thought a few times. I think getting one in the grocery store and indoors at doctor's office etc. was a slight concern.

I figured I could do noise control with Bose's headset.

I had enough energy to mow the lawn, vacuum the house and go to the library. Forgot that I have vertigo and looked up at a tree and almost fell over. [bonk] Decided a nap was in order. Hiker

Azure Wish, I forgot what kind of art work you do.

I clicked on the web site but it was a yahoo group.

I did not know there was a yahoo lyme artist group.

Fun is good.

I had some very good news today, but I will wait to see how it all plays out before sharing it.

Just the thought of it gives me tears. So strange how life's perspectives change.

Just dropping in to see what you all are doing today.

I had some XANGO today.

I also had a successful water therapy session via the senior van getting me there and home again.

And I noticed that I was oK with scissors in my hand while standing on my feet to open the XANGO package.

There was a time that a package to me would sit for two or three days before I could even think of opening it.

It has not been that long ago...I recall not being able to open a package in Feb.
