There's been a lot of discussion lately regarding banning and whether or not the administrators/owners of this site have an obligation to the membership to explain the reasons why a member has been banned.
I have openly expressed my feelings about Keebler and Wildcondor (who were NOT banned) as well as my feelings about BettyG who I believe was temporarily banned (?) and has not yet returned.
I along with so many others have greatly appreciated their contributions to lymenet, and have also openly expressed that in several posts/threads. I hope to see them on lymenet very soon as they are SORELY missed.
And now I see that Camp Other is apparently (?) banned. I was initially a bit put-off by his posts, but after reading more I came to appreciate his point-of-view and his desire to understand and put forth the science behind what we are all dealing with.
I have always believed it's about the science at the end of the day. The science IS there. Histrionics has no place in TBI or any other science. So I came to appreciate and understand his point of view.
I am puzzled as to why he has been banned. And I have to say that on the surface I don't agree with that decision.
HOWEVER, I do not know all the details. And it's NOT my "right" to know the details.
This IS a privately-owned site funded by the owners and charitable contributions--not by me, you or taxpayers, we DON'T have the right to know the details regarding decisions made by the organization.
Believe me, I'm all about rights and free speech. I have a big mouth, am very opinionated and do not hesitate to speak out.
But if you're in my house you have to follow my rules. And since I'm the one paying for my house and allowing you to visit I have the right to say what you can and can't do.
And because the feds don't help me pay the taxes on my house, I am not obligated to explain why I take exception to something you say and I have the right to tell you to leave without explanation.
That's my interpretation of lymenet. THEY are doing US a favor. WE aren't paying THEM to do what they do.
WE are the ones benefiting from this site.
I think there are a lot of people who don't "get this" and don't realize why lymenet was started in the first place.
Lou, can you please start a topic telling the story?
