I have just started trying samento and burbur, got up to 6 drops of samento a day had major herx so backed off to 2 drops a day

burbur is suppose to minimizr herxing, but did not with me, and I think it actually made it worse.

Anyone using either of these? and what have been your results?

My progress has been up and down, am making slow progress, thought I have not been feeling as good as I was in June, as I lost the rested feeling, upon waking.

I think the colestramine may have been helping more that I realized so have went back on it, with the samento.

Bruce,

I couldn't tolerate Burbur. It caused major nausea in me. I think I was just sensitive to it.

Aniek Thanks for your reply,

The Burbur seamed to make the herx worse with me. I had been taking the samento and burbur for a month now,

and the herx is getting to me (severe exhaustion & ears ringing) I am going bonkers, so today I decided to quite them for a week.

I had worked up to 6 drops a day, and last week went back to just 2 drops once a day, I hope I start feeling a little better with stoping.

I am assuming that the samento has caused a massive bacterial die off, that has over loaded my system.

I will post the results of stoping in a few days, Later Bruce

I took Samento for about a week. I could only tolerate two drops a day as well, and it caused intense fatigue.

I decided to try some other things for a while and come back to it later. Haven't tried Burbur yet.

Burbur is suppose to lessen the herxing, as for the samento I have read much good about it killing the lyme.

but after 3 weeks of herxing I have to stop for a while, in a week or two am going back on it, very slowly.

I know that anything that causes us to herx is killing the bacteria, but I just needed a bit of a breather.

May all hang tight in the battle with this disease, Later Bruce

Hi, I'm sure glad Burbur works for me, but from reading this thread, it doesn't work for everyone. I've been taking 8-10 drops 2-3 x day for a month now I guess.

The most interesting story I have about it is from the day I had a tooth worked on. The chemicals made me real loopy and after driving a block or so away from the dentist's office I couldn't even see signs well enough to read them.

I pulled over and got out my Burbur and the water bottle I had packed for use during the day and quickly made up some to take. After a few minutes I decided to drive the three blocks to my next appointment (prayin' hard for safety all the while... seeing ok, just feeling loopy.) After about 1/2 hour I was stabilizing, but I kept up the increased Burbur the rest of the day. It seemed to really help clear whatever the plastic temporary tooth was doing to me.

Hey thanks for all the feedback everyone!

Kam, Glad to hear you have a pet, they sure do help!!!

I have read some more info on samento and have found that several use the burbur as a detox, and take it for 7 to 10 days prior to starting

the samento, and then continue to take it while on the samento, so when I go bach on it I will try this protocall.

Some take the 2 6 days on 1 day off, some 12 days on 1 day off, others 30 days on 30 days off, and the bottomline appears to be for us to find out what works for us each.

The one consitance I have found is for any who have had lyme for years & decades, is to keep a regular program with them for up to 3 years

even if symptoms clear up, and if symptoms even return go back on it asap, also has been found that as little as 2 drops a day will kill bacteria,

and many are taking only 6 to 8 drops a day, a few I have read about are doing 20 to 30 drops a day, and only if they can tolerate it with out feeling wipped

I have been feeling a little better since stopping, I may go a couple of weeks before I restart.

9th day of just taking Burbur and feeling a lot better, I have decided to continue just taking Burbur 5 drops 2 times a day for at least 30 days,

as I been ill a long time, and probly have a lot of toxins to get rid of, then i will stay on the burbur and ad the samento slowly,

from 2 drops once a day to 3 drops twice a day, I will take 30 days and gradually increase from 2 drops a day to 6 drops a day.

But as of now I can see the burbur is definatly helping!

Here is a link of lyme info I have put together, include info about the herbs and drugs that I been using also.

I am up to 10 drops of Burbur 2 or 3 times a day and doing ok, two weeks I started the Samento 2 drops a day, and this week went to 3 drops a day.

This week I also started taking a low dose of naltrexone (3mg), suppose to be an immune system modulator, also makes endorphines to help get better quality sleep

After taking it for just 2 days I knowtice that I am functioning a little better. Here is a page with more info http://www.lowdosenaltrexone.org/#What_is_low_dose_naltrexone Later Bruce

Hi Bruceallan,

I'm glad to read you are doing better.

Using the Burbur to detox/clear out the lymph first is a really good idea. That is what I have found helpful myself.

I'd like to hear how the LDN does in the long run.

Keep us posted!

Day 4 on the low dose of naltrexone (3mg), it definatly is helping, while symptoms are still strong, the exhaustion is not as crushing.

at skips pharmacy the 90 cap perscrition (3 month supply) was only $44 plus 5 shipping, very cost effective.

My local doc who is not an LLMD would only provide a 50mg perscription, until I printed out the info in the above reffured to link, show the

potential benifits from it, as well as showing several pharmacys that had the 3mg available, then he wrote me a script for the 3mg.

My son takes both burbur and parsley 10 drops each 3 times a day. He started cumanda and is increasing slowly. On day 18 he is to start the samento. When he showed signs of herxing he increased the parsley and this really calmed things down.

Let us know how you do on it, I have heard from a couple others with lyme get some relief, and if this helps, we need to let as many lymies as we can know about it!
