Hello! I'd like to say first that this a great forum with an enourmous amount of information!

I am unsure about whether I have Lyme, but it sure seems like it.

About 1 1/2 months ago in April I pulled a tick from my buttocks. No rash. On Memorial weekend I went camping and pulled another from my left thigh.

I now have a red bump about the size of a nickel at the site, a smaller one on the back right lower thigh, and a larger, silver dollar, sorta redish blueish with 3 small white dots in the middle of it in my groin area.

I went to the doc and he said lyme is usually a bulls-eye but he would give me doxy anyway and put me on 100mg 2x/day for 2 weeks. He said no reason for blood test because it probably would not show up.

I have had headaches, body aches, cough, slight runny nose and extreme fatigue.

My questions are 1) Does this sound like lyme? and 2)Should I be getting a stronger treatment?
and finally could the three different sites that I have possibly mean that I was bitten more the ones that I found?

Any help and or advice would be great. Thank you!!

When you initially get Lyme you normally have a flu liek illness and a bullseye rash. When I first got Lyme a had a brown rash and sinusitis. Your Dr. is right when he said it wouldnt show up bnecause it wouldnt if you were jsut bit. I would go see a LLMD as soon as you can. The good news is that he did give you antibiotics whech will stop the bacteria from spreading for now.

Good Luck,
LuLu

1...YES; did you look at the LONG symptom list i sent in my 57 pages newbie links?

2..."100mg 2x/day for 2 weeks" ... look at DR. B's 2005 lyme guidelines link towards beginning of newbie info i sent you. he's specific in there.

3... yes, you can have 3 different bites and/or CO-INFECTIONS! could be lyme/co both or co-infections and not lyme.

TAKE PHOTOS OF YOUR RASHES USING COINS OR DOLLAR BILLS TO SHOW ACTUAL SIZE. date them, etc. use up the film to make sure they develop correctly!!

have you found a LLMD, LYME LITERATE MD; post in seeking dr. section; show LARGE CITY NEAREST YOU/STATE NAME IN SUBJECT LINE. copy/paste your above comments there and my answers so others don't take the time to answer same replies but can give you additional info ok! [Big Grin]
