I've used it for sciatic nerve pain. It helped get me out of the worst pain...but the pain would often be back in a few days.

Janbo...If you'll post medical questions in Medical, you'll get MANY more responses. Not too many hang out over here in General. [Smile]

Hi Janbo,
I adored it when I was recieving acupuncture! I sought out a traditional chinese acupuncture therapist and we really meshed together. He had me feeling better than I had in over 15 years. I really feel like he was actually healing me with the acupuncture (once a week) and traditional chinese herb therapy. I was really sorry when we had to move!! I haven't been able to find as good a acupuncture therapist since!!

Go to the medical questions forum and click the search button near the top (under Post New Topic). Do a search for acupuncture. There have been some postings on this topic recently.

I had a negative reaction to acupuncture, but that's pretty rare. I have very tight muscles that spasms with almost any irritation. So the acupuncture sent them into spasms.

My doctor told me you need to give acupuncture 6 times to see a benefit for pain relief. So don't just judge it on one or two visits, unless you have a negative reaction.

Accupuncture save me through the first 6 months of my treatment from taking pain meds. In addition, my accupuncturist healed my facial palsy, twice!!!

I moved and now am really sick in treatment and am on alot and I mean ALOT of pain meds...

It was the best therapy I have used alternatively that has helped.

The trick is to find someone good!!

Good luck

Jen

I use to go to acupuncture when I lived in Florida. I wish I was still going! It helped me with my anxiety. When I had facial palsy my doctor told me I would have it at least six weeks but probably longer. I went to acupuncture and it was gone in two weeks.
