I hope this isn't the wrong thing to put in medical... sorry if it is, let me know and I will move it.
My insurance runs out this month. I am going to buy an individual policy, and in NY state, they can't deny coverage for a pre-existing condition! Yay!
But, they can severely limit coverage for abx, especially IV abx, as being against their Lyme policy etc... so...
Anyone here having luck with their insurance co. paying for long-term IV?
For instance, I know Oxford limits IV for Lyme to only 1 month... but how about Aetna? Kaiser? Cigna? BC/BS?, Humana?
Anyone care to comment? Anyone having good experiences or bad experiences with their company (preferably experiences with companies that offer coverage in NY?).
My IV is working so well I don't want to stop, but don't think I can afford to pay for it out of pocket (though it may come to that).
