Hi
I just wanted to post a message saying thank you for the support. This place has become my lifeline. I have met the most wonderful people here! Amazing people! You have helped save my life.

I am now on Day 10 of IV Rocephin...feel like death. Today I was told you have positive Lyme and Babesia results. By the way I was told the same thing last July and after a very short treatment nobody would treat me again. I was even given steroids. I am hopeful with Dr. C in NY for the first time in a very long time.

When I get better I am going to devote my life to changing the tests and getting awareness of the symptoms to people. I do not want anyone to ever experience this horror. I still cannot believe that I live near Danbury CT and they could not recognize the symptoms...even after I initially tested positive.

I definitely need this site and the wonderful people right now. All I can say is THANK you.

So glad you're here, Monica!! Yup, it's pretty sad how few doctors have a clue, even in YOUR part of the world where you'd think they would!! Instead, they're actually antagonistic about the whole thing!

So glad you're on the right track.

Better days are ON THE WAY!!!

Hugs,

Michelle

Hi Monica,

I know you don't think the Rocephin is working yet...but I have to tell you...your attitude is changing.

After speaking with you the other night I think you sound much better today. Maybe that Rocephin is clearing out some of those nasty spirochetes in your noggin.

This board has been a life saver so many times for me. I don't know what I would do without it.

This disease changes who are you are. We will all have more compassion and feel the need to help others for the rest of our lives.

Thanks for keeping us updated.

Have a good day and safe travels to your appt.

Thanks Kit
I am wondering what the best option for the Babesia is right now...with taking the IV Rocephin. Dr. C mentioned Flagyl but I have not seen much about that working well. I have taken Mephron and Zith in July for 8 days and then again in Oct for three weeks but the second time it was also with Prednisone for the last week....so that obviously did not help.

I am just spinning today with what is best? I do think my attitude is better. Honestly I am ripping mad that I am back to the same place I was in July. I am also hopeful since the tests are finally positive again. Can you imagine being happy the tests are positive again..LOL.

I will let you know what happens at my appt when I get back.

Thanks Kit.

I took Flagyl when I was on Rocephin for a little bit!!! Rocephin is just incredible but the first months on it not much happened- then it saved me!!! I can't believe you live in CT and they are so lame there EITHER!! I always tihnk, "IF I had lived back East I would have gotten appropriate care easier!" but it is SO crazy! Agh!!!
Glad you are here, too~!!
Best wishes,
Sarah

You NEED flagyl. Rocephin creates the cyst form and then you take flagyl to get rid of it.

Flagyl is rough stuff, but very necessary!

I'm glad you have found a good doctor and LYMENET!!! [Smile]

When I did the Rocephin I didn't take any Flagyll with it. I took it after the Rocephin was completed and then I went on orals...Ceftin and Flagyl.

I don't know if that is how all LLMDs to do it but it helped me.
