I KNOW I am not the only one who feels this way!

Just hear me out. I would scroll on by the negative comments if I could, but it's hard sometimes.

I have learned an awful lot from the posts of others here on lymenet.

Very recently, I noticed a topic I was mildly interested in, posted by someone who I know has some interesting things to say.

There were 33 comments at the time

I thought I'd learn something from all the things others had to contribute.

Boy did I drive into a brick wall!

At least 75% of it was personal attcks, comments on those personal attacks, people defending their attacks, or counter-attacks.

Yes, that is only a rough estimate. I did not do a statistical analysis.

I know how easy it can be to fire off a line and click "post reply", but I urge you all to take a second look before doing so.

All I could think as I was reading that was didn't anyone ever tell these people "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all!"

Stress isn't good for sick people, you know.
And I've heard that there are a couple of sick people around lymenet.

I agree! I forget which thread this was on. I think I saw it though.

When things get nasty, I usually don't return to the thread. And sometimes if it's really bad, I'll report it.

You're welcome to do the same!!

When you're personally attacked, you have every right to do something about it.

I agree. I hate it. Many times it's stuff I'm really interested in.

Hi LymeNet Users, [hi]

I'm back ... I have BettyG's email reporting the objectionable Topic, I will review and take appropriate action.

Take care,

Well, welcome back [lol]

Unfortunately some of us can't play nicely in the sandbox, so you are needed.

Lymetoo, you were there. One of the only ones who just said your piece short & simple, with no judgement.

I don't remember who else was posting. I was looking for an exchange of ideas - in the wrong place.

Six -- that's exactly why I'm still so mad. It usually happens when I'm interested in the topic.

I know these folks have better things to say.

Anyway...Thanks, Lou.

Can I ask what's going on?

[confused]

I've apparently had my head up my butt again. [dizzy]

AliG and randibear-

You were just lucky enough not to stumble upon it.

It appears to have been deleted or is under review as Lou said.

My point in starting this whole thing is that this has happened before: I have stumbled into an argument full of personal attcks and no discussion of facts, opinions, etc.

It's the lack of respect that sometimes snowballs out of control.

I stumbled upon that post while desperately looking for something to fill my time at 3 or 4 a.m. as I was just having my first ever experience with insomnia.

You may tell by my tone, I'm pretty grumpy. I haven't slept much lately.

I agree, I hate it. Personally even if it has nothing to do with me I hate seeing stuff like that and it makes me upset.

I feel like we are in a tough enough fight as it is....and to be fighting with eachother is crazziness

I believe we need to be UNITED.. we all have opinions but that doesnt mean we have to attack one another.
