No instruction book needed.
Just love and enjoy that grandbaby!!
[group hug]

It's great to hear such good news.
I have 8 grandchildren, and it's wonderful!!

Now you'll have to decide on a good "grandmomma" name.

Hooray and shouts go to TINNY,
who just learned she's going to be a GRANNY!

Maybe the babies names will be Danny,
Fannie, or Manny!

But it makes no difference for this GRANNY!

tincup, is this your 1st?
***************************

my step-son's 2 marriages had kids who came in and out of lives in 1 year each! so we didn't get to be grandparents very long and spoil them like the rest of you.

so our 3 next door neighbors: 2 boys 4 and 9, and girl 7 have become our substitute grandkids.

when the rescue crew stopped suddenly yesterday at their house, i rushed over there, and told the ailing mom in her mid 30s i'd take care of the kids.

she not only called 911 for ambulance; she called her mom 20 miles away, and mom-in-law in town, and they both rushed over.

i suggested to MIL to go to hospital with her DIL; she had groceries in car. take them home, i'll be with the kids; we get along great.

so she sat all 3 kids down asking if they wanted to go with her to put groceries away or stay here with BETTY; WE'LL STAY WITH BETTY!
*******************************************

so the boys played baseball; older one throwing to younger one and me in a lawn chair to get all the balls not hit! what a hoot!

then MIL's hubby came and took 3 kids home with them. neighbor's mom called me at 9 pm; couldn't find out why she is starting to pass out. gave her anxiety pills. glad it wasn't serious.

so congrats tinny! is this your daughter or son? do you have more than 1 child?? [group hug]

How exciting!

My Mom adores being a grandma.

Especially since she could give the baby back when they cried or were colicky. [Big Grin]

Congrats Grandma to be! [Smile]

Tin Cup-

what absolutely fantastically kalafragillistically magical news that is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i's sooooooooooooooooo happy for you and your all grown up kid and fmaily... WOW!!!!

ps- grandparents don't need manuals.. you've already done the hard work of parenting. This is the part of the story when you get to love and play and then, whenever you're done, you get to hand the cutie-pie over, go home, and take a nap.

you'll rock as a grandma, Lady Cup. That's one lucky kid on the way..

All the responses have been so sweet and encouraging. Thank you!

It IS starting to get fun just thinking about it.

There was a time when I was worried if I were to be a grandma there was no way I could "be" one... I would just have to "act" like one... cause I was so stinking sick.

That thought was NOT good and it scared me.

So I am glad to get the news when I am doing a bit better. Maybe now I can be a bit closer to what this precious one deserves.... which is someone who feels the role rather than acts it so they can get by in a role they can't handle.

How many of us have had to do that before?

And I am most joyed by the happiness the mommy and daddy are feeling and watching them responding. For those reasons, this will be a lucky little one, for sure!

[Big Grin]

Oh.. due date is December 27th.

And yes... I already decided on the names, if it is a boy or girl.

Now I have to convince the parents they are good names! HA!

[lol]

Savannah Jane

Anthony Macgyver

If daddy has his way... keeping in mind their dog (my grand-puppy) is named after a baseball field... the name will come from a TV show like the A-Team or the Duke Boys. (At least he will tease the babies mommy till the baby is born... that is what he wants.)

So adding "Macgyver " in there MIGHT just end that little game.

[woohoo] CONGRATULATIONS! Becoming a grandma is the most exciting thing ever. There is a different kind of connection there than being a parent - totally unexplainable.

Love that child, TC, and enjoy every minute!
