To Anyone, Anywhere Here,

Sadly, the time has come where I am faced with the harsh reality of having absolutely nowhere to turn, but here, for the help I truly need.

I, honestly, never saw my life turning out like it has, but unfortunately, it has become the cold hard truth I must deal with.

It was quite hard, but I have pushed aside all of the horrible feelings it gives me to even have to ask this, instead, hoping and praying someone here will actually come to my rescue.

I am desperately reaching out to anyone, anywhere here, who can and is willing to help me, with my horrible situation.

I have entirely no support from any of my so called friends or family and my divorce will be final in another month, which is highly unlikely to give me the support I need and deserve.

I seriously doubt I can endure being homeless, since I am already so sick from having lyme, yet that is where I am headed, unless someone will be very kind and help me.

All I need is a safe and clean place to stay temporarily, until I can manage to get some help from the government, which I will work hard to get, as soon as possible.

I live in Kentucky, but am willing to relocate anywhere, just to have the peace and support I need to get back up on my feet some.

I don't expect for anyone to have to pay any of my expenses, but with what little money I do have, I can barely afford to pay for my medical care, food, and things of that nature, much less for a place to stay.

I realize I don't have much to give to anyone, but I am a very honest and trustworthy Christian woman, who would never cause anyone any harm whatsoever and can even provide some references, if wanted.

I sincerely hope and pray someone here will find it in their heart to help me, which I would be so grateful for, more than you'll ever know.

If that someone is you, please send me a private message, as soon as possible, and I will willingly share with you, anything you feel is necessary.

Thank you very much!

Love, Light, & Health,
Jennie

Hi there Jennie,

Your post really touched me. I know I've had to worry many times about being in the same boat. I separated from my spouse for about 3 years during the worst of my illness.

My family had alot of issues going on and most of my friends are in Alaska where I used to live so I didn't have the support I needed either.

I lived in a very small trailer with my dog that the church that I belong to let me stay at. In lieu of rent I cleaned the church.

I did this with my IV line in.

Have you gotten any responses yet? I hope and pray that things will get better for you. I would like to help but the clean and safe thing might be an issue.

I have a large dog that lives in the house and my spouse has mental issues. Spouse is emotionally unpredicatable and is medicated. Thank God the dog's fine. LOL!!!

Please let us know how things are going for you.

[group hug]

Now may be a perfect time to get a room in a college dorm - it's a month before school would begin again and many colleges rent rooms to the public during the break.

there is also a fabulous Abbey in Kentucky - you might inquire about various retreat houses - although usually a week or ten days is the longest.

It sounds like you have a church - you might talk with some people there for suggestions.

I'd get a new attorney if your attorney suggests that you will be out of the house.

You can still do this in a friendly manner, but I think the law would say that neither party should go without housing.

Check the law.

Hi Gang,

I've read your posts and thank you so much for them, as they've truly lent alot of encouragement to me, which is well-needed, at this time.

Between my latest happenings with my health, including my emergency room visit last night until early this morning, I'm feeling worse than I have in a long time.

I spoke with my primary care physician's nurse today, but haven't heard back from them yet.

I spoke with my LLMDs nurse today also, who has already spoke with my LLMD, and relayed to me what they think I need to do, in order to feel better.

They said the tetracycline I started taking, just a few weeks ago, has caused me to have an awfully bad herx, which has really hit my heart hard.

I'm told it happens and is an indication of how high my bacterial load still is, especially in my heart, thus when I start taking it again, I've been advised to start with an even lower dose and give it some additional time, so I can see how it's going to affect me, before I increase it.

I just went way too fast with way too much of it, not knowing it though, until it happened, how bad it could really get, as my body seems to be quite sensitive to dieoff, from being so sick still.

I don't like the thought of it, even though I realize it's necessary, but have been assured I need to discontinue taking my antibiotic, until all of my symptoms resolve, as well as take a short course of steriods, to lower the inflammation in my body, especially my heart.

I wish I had someone to call, who would go pickup my steroid prescription at the pharmacy and bring it to me, but unfortunately, I don't.

I've been trying to gather what strength and energy I have to go get it, all day long, and it's getting late, thus the day is almost over, so I've got to push myself to go get it now, no matter what, because I know I need it.

I'm sure I'll be just fine, it's just going to seem like a long hard trek there and back for me, which is going to take alot out of me.

I hope I come home, take it, and start getting some immediate relief tonight, but if not, then tomorrow, at the latest.

They told me I should start feeling alot better, no later than the end of the week, but hopefully, sooner.

I'll be back, just as soon as I'm feeling up to it, to answer any replies to my post.

I thank you from the very bottom of my heart for all of your love and support!

You all are the best group of people anyone could ever ask for!

I have no idea what I'd do without you all!

Love, Light, & Health,
Jennie

Jennie,

I just want to be sure.

Your LLMD came to you how - by referrals from other lyme patients or through here?

Is your LLMD knowledgeable in ILADS research?

I hope the change in your treatment helps.

take care.

Betty,

She is either in Kentucky and thinking of moving to Indiana or the other way around.

As you may guess, my concern is the use of steroids w/o abx.

Of course, I'm not a doctor and even ILADS' LLMD may have some new approach or there may be individual treatment needs that warrant this, but this is against what we have read from the experts concerning treatment with steroids in a lyme patient. As I read it, she would be off abx while on steroids.

Therefore, I just hope the doctor is really LL.

===

P.S. Betty,

I just looked at Kentucky lyme support groups. She actually runs one. So, I guess she certainly has the inside track on finding a LLMD.

I'll let it go.

keebler,

just happened to see someone update this, so took a peek at it, and saw your note to me.

yes, jennie is extremely knowledgeable on llmds being a support group leader.

she had fun with me awhile back,

i referred her to her state's local support group leader, and she stated,

"when you are the leader, who do you turn to then?" .... something like that .... great sense of humor for all she has been going thru!

Hi Keebler and Betty,

I made it home, took my first dose of medicine, got ready for bed, and thought I'd check here, one more time, before I turn in.

I was hoping to post a few responses to some replies I've received to my threads, but I'm still feeling pretty lousy, thus I need to get some rest soon, although I will try again tomorrow.

When I saw you two are worried about my LLMD and use of steriods, I felt the need to explain though, so you don't worry unnecessairly.

I greatly appreciate you thinking of and looking out for me, which means so much to me, as it makes me feel good to know you two are concerned about my well-being, just as I'm concerned about your's.

I was referred to my LLMD by someone here and they're highly recommended by many here, who they've helped to get well.

Like most here, I consider them one of the best and know they'd never do anything to harm me, thus I have alot of faith and trust in them.

I expressed my concerns about using some steriods too, but am told long term high doses are not advised, but a short burst is okay, especially when herxing and subsequent inflammation in organs has gotten out of control, such as my case now.

My prescription is only for 20 mg of Prednisone 3 times per day for 3 days and as soon as my symptoms abate, I'm to resume taking my Tetracyline, just at a lower and slower pace, but I'm to keep taking my Rifampin, since it's not causing me any issues.

I hope I've allievated your fears, as I don't want you two or anyone else to needlessly worry, although I do understand your concerns, but I assure you, I'm in good hands.

You all are so sweet to think so much of me it really touches me!

One thing I'll always be grateful for is the care of a great LLMD and wonderful friends here!

Love, Light, & Health,
Jennie

Jennie:

In a previous note you had said: " . . . I need to discontinue taking my antibiotic, until all of my symptoms resolve, as well as take a short course of steriods . . ."

-

A followup note you say: " . . . I'm to keep taking my Rifampin .. ."

So, thanks for the clarification.

The rifampin had not been previously mentioned so it seemed as if you were to be on steroids w/o the abx protection. Glad you've got everything you need.

It's good to hear that the prednisone will be just for three days - that's way shorter than most "shorter" courses of prednisone.

I'm also glad to hear that you do have a good LLMD. That's worth a great deal and saves you time and effort.

Take care.

Jennie,

don't have the ability to read what is going on here.

So don't know where you are at.

I heard through word of mouth of low income apartments in my area.

I filled out the applications and got on the waiting lists.

I had no income at all when I first moved in.

But, received SSI shortly afterwards.

I also know of a lady who contacted someone in her county to let them know she needed a place right away.

She too was sick but dx with fibro/cfs.

They were able to find her a place right away.

The local church helped me move to where I am now.

it was a matter of just taking it one step at a time and knocking on doors when I was able.

I agree. Not the plan.

The Healing Ranch comes to mind when I read posts such as this.

It is what use to be a summer ranch 2 miles out of town that is not in use right now.

I have this idea of purchasing it and having it be a place for people with trying to recover from lyme to go to.

Beautiful view in the mountains with boulders. Right next door is the national forest.

Big chow hall. A few small cabins on the place.

big fenced in meadow that would be great for horses.

And we could have the lyme doc come to us and a nurse on site.

Please keep us posted.

I would do a search for your county to see what is available for housing but don't have the brain power at this time.

I think you do Section 8 housing or HUDD. Not sure.

There are two different programs.

Thanks for your hope and prayers!

I'm going to try to give you a call soon! [Smile]

Keebler...

I live in a small town, where the biggest colleges, outside of the two year community college, are private institutions, which I doubt will help me.

I doubt a retreat house will work for me either, since I need more long term housing arrangements.

Unfortunately, I did have a church, but they've since turned their back to me too, saying they'd have to be millionaires to help me, so they've chosen to do nothing for, instead of something.

I'm sad to say, but without me having the resources to give an attorney a large retainer, I've been unable to find another one.

Most tend to think the law will help them, when it comes right down to it.

I was guilty of that too, but I'm now seeing, firsthand, how corrupt the judicial system is, not to mention how greedy the lawyers are.

I'm amazed, yet saddened, at the same time.

Thanks for your thoughts! [Smile]

heiwalove...

I'm sorry my post made you cry, as I never intended for it to upset anyone.

Your post made me cry too, just thinking about all the mess you are in.

I hope and pray someone will be able to help you too!

Thanks for your thoughts and love! [Smile]

djf2005,

I'd really like to stay close to where I am now, if possible, as I really need to keep my primary care physician and LLMD, but if it means not being homeless and getting the help I need, I'm willing to relocate anywhere.

I've tried numerous local churches, but not any colleges, as I don't see them as being an avenue to help me, but I guess, on second though, it doesn't hurt to add them to my list of people and places to ask for help, since all they can say is ``no''.

Thanks for your prayers! [Smile]

Tracy9,

I'll be sure to email you my contact information soon.

Thanks! [Smile]

lymielauren28,

I got your PM and have responded.

abigail,

Yes, I do.

I got your email and will call you soon.

Thanks! [Smile]

randibear...

Unfortunately, I'm not near a large city, although I do have a women's shelter close by.

I've contacted them and been told, if I end up homeless, call them back and they'll try to help me, but since I'm not in an abusive situation, which I need to be removed from, they are reluctant to want to be the first to help me.

I'm going to PM you now! [Smile]

djf2005,

Thanks for your concern!

If I wasn't in the hands of a great LLMD, I'd have reservations also, but thankfully, that's not the case.

I'll PM you.

Thanks for hoping things work out for me! [Smile]

Keebler...

You're welcome for the clarification!

It's often hard to think of everything to say, when it needs to be said, especially with lyme involved.

Thanks for your good wishes! [Smile]

Lymetoo...

I'm already on 10mg 2 times per day of Hydrocortisone for my ongoing hypoadrenalism, so don't worry, I'm covered.

I know you didn't know that, before you wrote what you did.

I realize I should have included that information, but like I told Keebler, it's just hard to think of everything to say sometimes, which needs to be said, to not cause anyone to worry unnecessarily.

Thanks for your concern! [Smile]

kam...

I'm glad to hear everything has worked out so well for you and your friend!

I've taken your advice, from before, and am now on the waiting list for both types of housing, but no one can tell me how long it's going to take, before I can get help with it.

I'm told section 8 alone has a 2 year waiting list, which is a long time to be without a home.

I just need a way to survive, until I can actually get my foot in the door with various government programs I'm eligible for.

Our economy is hurting (I actually believe we're in a recession), thus people everywhere are short on resources, especially funding for government programs, which can help me.

I think that's the real reason why I can't get the immediate help I need, but I realize it's beyond my control, thus all I can do is wait and try to find a way to get by, without having to live in the streets, in the meantime.

I really like your idea about the ranch!

It sounds so peaceful and inviting.

I hope you can make it a reality someday to help those in need! [Smile]

Love, Light, & Health,

Hi Gang,

I've had several of you here offer me a place to stay, which I'm very grateful for, beyond words!!!

Besides feeling lousy, from trying to recover from a massive herxheimer reaction I've had, right now, I'm very overwhelemed with my upcoming divorce trial, as well as where I should stay.

Honestly, I really don't know where I should stay, but I realize anywhere is better than being homeless.

Having to reach out, much less rely upon someone, especially someone I hardly know, to provide me a place to stay, especially since I've always been a giver, is a very hard thing for me to do.

I've quickly come to realize it's something I must do though, in order to survive, and I am very glad I did.

Right now, "abigail", a member here, who just so happens to live right where I do, has tentatively offered to let me stay with her, until I can get the help I need.

She's going to talk to her children about it and give me a for sure answer soon.

I just want to let you all know where I stand, at this time.

Of course, I'm going to leave it up to her and her children to decide, but if it doesn't work out, then I'll be sure to let you all know.

If it does though, then that would be wonderful, especially since I won't have to worry about moving so far and most likely, losing my primary care physician, as well as my LLMD, only to have to start all over elsewhere.

Since I'm feeling worse than I have in a long time, right now, and am unable to even make a trip to the grocery store and back to get the food I need to eat, she's even offered to do that for me tomorrow.

What a blessing to know she's going to come help me tomorrow!!!

I thank each and every one of you, from the very bottom of my heart, for all of your advice, care, concern, encouragement, love, prayers, thoughts, etc. you've given me!!!

I feel there are no words, which can express how deeply grateful I am, but I hope all of you know how very much it means to me!!!

With me not having any support from my family, living in a small town, and having to deal with the neverending hurt of running into them, only to be constantly ignored, I'm not sure it's best for me to stay where I am now longterm.

I realize that's something I can work on deciding later, once I get past my immediate need of, at least, not being homeless though.

Ironically, my mother, who I haven't seen since the first of the year, when she needlessly got upset about my need for her to go with me to see my LLMD, which is a 6 hour drive one-way, left me a voicemail today telling me she put $25 in my front door.

Even though the tone of it wasn't so nice, which made me realize, once again, she still just doesn't understand and it's likely she still doesn't want to, just how sick I am and how much I need her help, I still see it as a small step in the right direction of her turning around, which I'm very thankful for!!!

If you will, please keep praying for me, but most of all, my family will turn around and offer me the love and support I truly need!!!

Also, "abigail" will be able to actually provide me a place to stay, as well as for her and her daughter's continued health, since they both have lyme too!!!

I know my family can't cure my lyme, but I realize my life would be so much better, just by having their love and support, where there's not a day that goes by I don't pray and long for it!!!

Love, Light, & Health,
Jennie

Please tell us which "church" you were attending, so I can make sure that I never inadvertently set foot in it! [Mad]

I hope things get better for you soon.

Hi Spiderlily,

Feel free to send me a private message for their contact information, if you'd like to write or call them on my behalf, since I'd really like to know how come they've treated me so horrible, yet call themselves Christians.

I'll gladly give you the name of the minister, secretary, one of the so called "spiritual prayer warriors", and the leaders of the bible study class I participated in, all who promised me they'd help me, not to mention many who partcipated in my bible study class.

I extend the same invitation to anyone here.

I attended there regularly, for quite some time, where I received a certificate of completion for a bible study course I took through my bible study class, gave my testimony in front of the entire congregation, and got rebaptized, which I received a certificate for also.

Many people may find my experience unbelievable, but it's very true, while at the same time, most of all, deeply hurtful.

Nowadays, I believe alot of people call themselves Christians, perhaps for their own convenience or selfishness, but when it comes right down to it, they're just hypocrites.

My apologies to those of you who are quite the exact opposite, as I admire and respect you for not being that way.

This is just a really sore subject for me, after the horrible way I've been treated by people who call themselves Christians and can clearly see I'm in dire need, yet they choose to ignore it and still show up at church every week claming to be somebody I know they're not.

Thanks for hoping things get better for me soon! [Smile]

Love, Light, & Health,
Jennie

So glad you are finding truly good Samaritans.

Very sad you have found in your time of need that SOME of the ones that label themselves as Practicing Christians are not how they appear, and would want us to believe.

Their COLD hearts Lower the name of Christianity.

It's no surprise to me, that presented with a challenge, they choose not to deliver .

I have seen door's closed on the needy , be it time or money , by VERY Prosperous Churches .

Let's hope for light soon, at the end of dark tunnel,

as Geneal say's.

I feel more comfortable keeping this somewhat private for myself, but especially for those who are offering to help me.

I still want to be able to update those of you who are concerned about my current situation though.

In order to do so, I'm just going to use more general information, from now on.

Me staying with them for a short period of time would probably be okay, but there are doubts it would work out much longer than that.

We don't have any issues with one another, just the living arrangements wouldn't exactly be ideal for anyone.

At the very least, I've gained a great lyme friend, who lives right where I do, at the moment! [Smile]

I'm going to follow up on another offer I have and see if it might be better, where I hope to know more, by the end of the week.

Many thanks to several of you for your continued support! [group hug]

Love, Light, & Health,
Jennie

Hi there Jennie!

Am amazed by Abigail and hope everything works out. Call me anytime. Please.

There's not a whole lot of support out there but I've found it here for myself and I'm so glad to be able to extend any kind of support that I can.

You're not alone my friend and just to let you know I'm thinking about you tonight!

Hang in there!

Hi aklnwlf,

I received an email from her earlier tonight, which explained more of her feelings about me staying with her.

Although I'd certainly hoped and prayed it would work out, unfortunately, it hasn't.

Her intentions are certainly well meant though and I know she'd really like for it to be otherwise, but I understand she's in a tough situation also.

She'd said she'd call me earlier this evening and go pickup some groceries for me, although it never happened, but hopefully, in a few more days, I'll recover enough from the really bad herxheimer reaction I've had and feel strong enough to go get them myself.

Besides not having any well needed help for other things, that means I'm still at a loss, as to where I can stay for awhile, but I'll keep hoping and praying I'll find someone to help me soon.

I tried to call you earlier this evening, but I didn't get any answer.

Perhaps you were not at home, had already gone to bed, or I dialed the wrong phone number?

You're right, outside of support here, which I continue to remain very grateful for, there's just not a whole lot of other support out there, which I've quickly come to realize.

I'm glad you've found support here for yourself and you're glad to be able to extend any kind of support you can!

Being able to come here, definitely helps me to know I'm not alone, which helps alot itself, albiet it still doesn't provide me with well needed help for other thiings nor a place to stay for awhile, which I desperately need.

Thanks for the reminder I'm not alone and letting me know you're thinking about me tonight!

I'm hanging as tough as I possibly can, even though the stress I'm having to deal with, right now, especially not knowing I have anywhere to stay for awhile, seems so overwhelming, most of the time!

Thank you very much for your well needed encouragement!

The sad realization is I still don't have any solid answer as to where I can stay for awhile though, but I'll sure keep trying my hardest!

If there is anyone else here, who thinks they can help me with a place to stay for awhile, please send me a private message and let me know!!!

Thanks! [Smile]

Love, Light, & Health,
Jennie

Jennie,

I receive 4 hours a month help with the county.

Again, I learned about who to contact via word of mouth.

Then my LLMD filled out the forms for me.

It really helps me from going under.

You might think about looking into this too.

If I have the funds, I will have her get groceries for me Monday when she comes.

I have found it to be more reliable than people who volunteer.

I think it takes a special person to volunteer there time.

I think most have a good heart but they need to factor in their time and how this is going to affect their lives, etc.

Most people are just trying to keep their own lives going.

Hi Kam,

I remember you telling me about that before.

I wrote it down on my list of suggestions I received here, when I asked about who/where I could ask for some help.

Everyone I've contacted though, thus far, doesn't seem to know what I'm talking about.

Can you tell me who/where I need to call?

I sure could use the help!

I couldn't agree more with what you said about them!

Thank goodness we have them to help out those of us who really need it!

What a blessing!

Thanks! [Smile]
