Read this old post if you care to.

````````````````````````````````````````````````
I am still wondering about the doctors names thing, is that a rule here or not?
I hear what you are saying and thank you for sharing what happened to you. The infectous disease doctors you saw probably aren't the ones I am going to see that my family doc suggested and I cant believe that all infectuos disease doctors are going to be the same way.
I have to give this guy a chance. My family doctor said that no way is my insurance going to pay anymore unless he says I have Lyme so I feel like I have to go.
I dont think all infectous disease doctors think about AIDS. I had cellulitis and an infectous disease doctor probably saved my leg.
Really I think calling them ducks is very disrespectful and extreme and being extreme makes it hard for me to accept what is being said.
I know that guy wasnt a duck he was a fine doctor kind and caring. I saw him before I travelled to south and central america too because he did travel medicine and I had to get some vaccinations and he gave me treatment for malaria in advance.
I'd see him except he moved to another state.
I'm also going to see the Lyme doctor some of you suggested but not the one with the website. I cant believe that all doctors in a specialty agree about anything.
Ive been through illness before with a close relative and none of the doctors agreed about what to do.
I even hurt my foot and had five different opinions on what to do so it is hard to believe that all infectus disease doctors think the same way about Lyme. I'm going to give this guy a chance.
How I will choose between different opinions if that is what I get is a different story that we'll see about later if it comes to that.
I had to see my obgyn for routine visit and he said I should go to Johns Hopkins and that they are experts there and will take a team approach since I have problems that might need different specialists.
I think that sounds like a great idea since Hopkins is one of the best hospitals in the world. Any experiences with Hopkins?
I'm going to ask that as a different question here.
That innocent sounding post came from the sick mind of a troll. It was written about 6-7 years ago (?- not sure of date).
He (not a she needing an ob-gyn like they claimed) was signed up as one of our members.
Note the style... worded nicely but specifically to cause a reaction and get people stirred up... but in a round about way.
BTW- They were immediately spotted and booted off. And they continue to return here over and over using various names, ISP addresses, etc.
Question is...
Could you have been able to pick out the fact this was a troll from reading that post above?
Do NOTE- I did NOT post this here to hint that anyone is a troll. Or to freak anyone out... so don't even go there.
I posted it only because I stumbled on it today while I was cleaning up 6 zillion files that have been downloaded since I changed computers. .. and because many here have been asking questions about trolls... either on the board or by PM's and emails.
I found it interesting that after all this time they still have the same writing style in this example... and are still so easy to spot for those who have seen this happening over the years.
Also.. I posted it to remind folks NOT to give out personal information to people they come in contact with on the internet... no matter how innocent they sound.
This was posted about the time a troll posted to our children that were here... being nice and pretending to be a policeman.. and wanting kids to meet him in NY.
Thanks Tincup for posting this.
Reading over the old post I noticed at least 7 debatable statements.
Or as they say in a courtroom -- I Object. Argumentative!!! Or maybe -- badgering the witness.
Yep, I agree!
and I DO remember this:
"This was posted about the time a troll posted to our children that were here... being nice and pretending to be a policeman.. and wanting kids to meet him in NY."
We have to be vigilant.
Just found more by the same person....
`````````````````````````````````````````
Im editing my post, I couldnt delete it.

Someone hurt my feelings and said some things that seemed mean to me but I dont want to fight, Im sure this person means well.

Please remember Im new and feeling confused and overwhelmed so be patient with me and try to be kind. I cant take it right now if you feel you have to be mean to me I cant stand it.

I came for support and to get some information. Im not in the advanced class Im here for basics.

Have a nice weekend.

```````````````````````````````````````````````
What is "pubmed"? Yes nerve pain hurts an awful lot.
I don't know if the article you quote is about Lyme at all. Thanks for trying to help.
I wish other people would chime in here. I really need to show something to my doctor and insurance on this.
````````````````````````````````````````````````

And I'm still wondering what is Pubmed?

Thanks in advance.

Hey Bea... You said... "Or maybe -- badgering the witness."

Exactly!!! You hit the troll on the head! HA!

And last I heard (read) hubby was doing better. I hope it is still true. He sure is a lucky man to have you on his side. I wish we all had an advocate as smart and determined as you are. Keep up the good work!!

[Big Grin]

tutu...

You said.. "We have to be vigilant."

I agree! You've seen the destruction and danger first hand.. and have watched as advocates and members have been attacked. Many over the years have stopped posting and stopped activism because of problems like these. THAT is the trolls purpose.

So PLEASE everyone.. don't post something that can come back to hurt you and/or your family... or others here.

[Big Grin]

BG...

Since you are the official "welcome wagon"- remember those from way back when.. and how nice it was to have them come greet you when you came to a new town?

Anyhow...

I thought it might help for you.. but also many others ... to see some of the ignorant tricks they play on unsuspecting people whose hearts are out on the front lines trying to help people... like you do for so many.

Once here.. and there are still a bushel and a peck of them on board... they throw fireballs out there for no other purpose than to cause fights and problems.

Unfortunately, the whole board gets uncomfortable... and folks who wouldn't normally "act up" or be curse get rattled and do. It makes the atmosphere here hateful and strained to say the least.

I hope you understand that anytime folks get stuck in a situation like people here are.. with a disease that is being mishandled to the max, the medical world fighting them rather than helping them.. etc...

To have them locked in that miserable cage and then have them poked and punched at with sticks, would make anyone upset and reactive.. rather than proactive. Hence, the negative atmosphere here lately.

Glad to see you are back! You were certainly missed.

Thank you Tincup for posting this.

I'm still pretty new and I'm not around much, but I possess a suspicious nature that makes it very easy for me to see through the B.S.

There are many caring, trusting people here who are just so quick to offer words of wisdom and support that they end up getting sucked in.

It will happen again and again as the predators seek their prey. [Frown]

(I am so grateful for those caring people. I have learned much from them, and I still marvel at what they know and how willing they are to share the same info over and over again.)

I am confident that efforts like this aid in reminding people of what's lurking out there. Those reminders are unfortunately necessary.

You are one of many around here who is indispensible. [group hug]
