i just pulled a tick off my son's back. he's 8. being treated for lyme. Just said out loud yesterday to a couple people that he really is better, i think we are almost at an end.

so i'm freaking. my husband's freaking. we are trying to act calm and nonchalant but son knows we are scared.

just called the pediatrician. can't get a hold of my llmd. I demanded abx to hold us over next couple of days until the llmd office reopens.
my husband's on his way to the all night pharmacy

are we over reacting? probably.

but knowing what i know, seeing what i've seen, living what i've lived... the fear of it starting over again, is greater than anything else.

is this what our lives will be like from now on? fear? Waitig for the next tick? Wondering what tick's i've missed and never saw?

i'm sitting here literally holding my breath. I have to remind myself to breath (damn babs!). Is this what i will do for the next month as i watch and wait?

well, my tea is ready. i'm going to jump in bed with my kids until dad returns with the magic pink medicine.

and screw it, im serving cranberrry sauce from a can tomorrow!

fan, on no!! [group hug] [kiss]

i'd rather be OVERACTIVE than nonreactive; stay ahead of the game! glad you got someone to prescribe abx for you tonight!!

keep us informed. i'm going to church who yearly makes unlimited turkey meals for homeless, etc. and those with no one to eat with.

i'll bring home 3 meals for us, and just pay for food even after i just bought $150 of groceries, 60^ being meat! no energy to cook.

I just posted a thread last week in Medical, same deal.

We sent the tick out, and we are glad we did. It tested negative for Lyme (which my son has congenitally anyway) but POSITIVE for babesia, which I think is critically important to know, so now we can get him right on Babesia treatment.

Betty G

I just tried to send you a private message to comment on you and your church serving meals to the homeless.

It was a great comment-

But I could not send it because I am on your ignore list.

With this disease I am probably oversensitive,

but no wonder everyone is leaving this site!

i would freak too..i did myself. the day after my neuro called to tell me "well, think it is lyme but your tests are half positive" ( i later found out this ment only IGM pos. and not making any Igg)..i pulled a tick off my youngest ones earlobe

i freaked !!! went to pedi. who looked at me like a neurotic mom and dissmissed congential lyme as an issue to worry about. so, i understand

now that i have gotten myself litte more eduacated think may have found doc in our area for the kidos to get worked up.

by the way, week after the tick bite he got a rash on his clavicle area with 3 red streaks that looked like scratches, doc declined to test for anything or give abt. so guess we will see soon.

better to be the advocate for your kids, if your not who will be??
