So, I get into my office with my cup of coffee. I am feeling much better after a nasty belly bug. I check my email to see that the Igenex results are in.
I start shaking anxious yet scared to see the results. I click on it and it says cancelled!! My docs office cancelled the wrong flipping test apparently. I asked them to cancel the co infection panel!
I already paid igenex and everything so I dont understand how and why this happened. I am going to be delayed yet another week because of this. I am waiting for Igenex to open so I can make sure this is true.
Darn it!!!

Oh no!
I'm so sorry for this mix up for you!
Doesn't it just seem sometimes like you get nothing but setbacks?
((((hugs))))

I know this is just one of lifes' many challenges but geez!! Thats 2 more weeks to prolong treatment but then again I am still closer than I was 9 months ago.
I know mistakes happen but pooey!! I am hoping that the computer just spit off the wrong cancelation.I am trying to be optimistic here!
I know my docs think I am pushy but I have set back and set back. I am not my own psuhy advocate noone will be. I will just be put on the back burner.
They will find out the only way to make this pushy adamant and crazy patient to go away is to do the right thing! duh... and thats not give me anti depressants, call me depressed and call it a day....
Thank you Star for your response!!
This too shall pass!!

I was going to suggest calling Igenex.
They probably still had your blood sample.
Glad it worked out.
Keep us posted on the results.

I think he will wait and tell you at your appointment, but you could call him yourself and ask for the results ahead of time. I did that when I had my second WB.
It is so crazy how we put so much into those test results, when the truth is they are not the determining factor of whether we have Lyme or not. So many of us test negative because of the inaccuracy of them; yet we are on the edge of our seat for the results. I know because I have been there.
Try to take it with a grain of salt. If you are one of the lucky ones it will be positive. If it is negative, it really doesn't mean anything. Your LLMD will diagnose you based on your symptoms.
Good luck to you!

Thank you Lyme and Suthrn!! It will be ok! I am at the edge of my seat because my doc seems to go by those tests. I did talk to a LLMD in tx and I think I am going to pay him a visit.
I know based on my symptoms, he will probably clinically dx me. I have felt great aside from the bug the last couple of days.
Although my doc is willing to try me on abx, I just dont know how long he will do it. I now see the importance of a LLMD

glad you called IGX!! glad to hear you'll be calling n. texas too! many happy patients they went there!!
disappointment ... boy, don't we all know that phrase well!

The docs nurse was so fabulous over the phone! I got to make sure they are in net with my insurance.
If so, TX here I come!! Not too bad of a waiting list.
Here is where I start getting wishy washy... lets say my tests are negative and my somwhat llmd(he does treat lyme, I just dont think he dxs it without proof) doesnt really want to treat me.
Is it worth the trip? Again, I always battle with going a long distance and them tell me there is nothing they can do.
I have been told that for along time along with everyone else. I would hate to be pushing a disease that I may not even have!
OOOOOOAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHH!

My LLMD looks at a WB.
However, wants to know what symptoms do you have.
He is most comfortable with a clinical diagnosis.
He uses a WB to support that diagnosis only.

Well, I will be weighing out all the factors. I just havent got it all in excel yet to calculate. Mo doc will not take insurance (unless I just didnt get the memo).
TX doc does take insurance. MO is 479 miles and TX is 661 miles.
See, I just got to sort all this stuff out before I make my final desicion.

Jamie, I've been there, don't let it stop you. Sometimes people don't test positive on the bloodwork.
I think your instincts tell you that you have lyme. A seasoned llmd will know if you have lyme or coinfections based on your symptoms, regardless of your test results.
I am so happy to be on the road to recovery due to being diagnosed according to my significant symptoms that I doubted until the very last minute.
Good Luck.

My Louisiana LLMD takes insurance.
We aren't that far from Tennessee.
In fact, we were in Waynesboro for a month and then Kingston for 3 months.
Angels all of the people in Tennessee.
Not only did they make us feel so welcome
After losing our house to Katrina,
They were such a balm to our battered and weary souls.
I will never forget their help and generosity.
PM me if I can be of any help.
(I think my LLMD may be closer to you and he studied under the LLMD in Mo.)
Hugs,
Geneal
