Hi,
I know it was mentioned in the past but seems no one ever wrote to her. I figured it was worth a shot. I want to encourage others to do the same. I wrote to her on her website:
http://www.brockovich.com/ and also by e-mail:
[email protected] <[email protected].
This is what I wrote:

Hi,
I was wondering about a class action suit for lyme disease patients who are being denied medication because of a conflict of interest between the IDSA and the insurance companies. There is a new film out called" Under our Skin." That has been discussed by Dr. Oz from Oprah and there is a thread on her website with over a thousand personal stories:

http://www.oprah.com/community/thread/101903. People are becomming permanetly disabled and losing there lives to this disease and no one is helping. Please visit the links below as they show the trailer to the film and are quite eye opening.

Sincerely,
Ann Ehlers

" Lyme disease is growing at four times the rate of AIDS and is quickly becoming our nation's most misdiagnosed and fastest-growing infectious disease. Educating the public and physicians regarding the disease and the progression of treatment is essential."

My response....

Erin,

I truly loved the movie about you and wish I had the strength to get out and do what you did for lyme suffers.

I have had lyme for 20 years, but was just diagnosed last year. I can not work. To boot, my husband has lyme and we gave our daughter lyme.

My husband or daughter would never have found out about lyme if I hadn't gone out of state to find answers to why I feel so poorly.

We have adults dying, and children suffering, just like in the movie. And, we can't get help, we are too sick to fight for right, and it would do all of America to get us better and back to work.

There are ways to get people better, but the insurance companies fight treatment.

My daughter is 5 years old, blonde hair and blue eyes. She is the light of my life and I can't do half the things I want to do with her because I am sick.

You are great, and lymies would be honored to have your help.

Kind regards,
Shalome
