he's driving me crazy. he was on zetia for high chloesterol and started to have joint pain so he called and went in for blood work.

no arthritis, but said go off for 30 days. so he did. then he went and told me to call and see what they wanted to do.

our primary care doc's nurse (the one i don't like) said they wanted him to go on zocor. i picked up the prescription and he went on the interenet and read all these comments about side effects.

so he calls this nurse (the one i dislike) and told her "oh i just have these aches and pains, and i'll be 62, so i want to continue on zetia and not take this zocor."

she told him i had called and i had said this and that and why was he saying something else. so he says to me "well what did YOU tell her?" i told him "look you said you were improving off it and your joints didn't hurt as much. next time, bubby, you do all your own calling, cause i ain't doing it."

i think these are lyme symptoms, the really bad joint pains, the forgetfulness, etc.

whatever, but i've learned when dealing with this doctor's office to be very careful. i'm switching doctors....i just can't stand that nurse and now i look like an absolutely idiot....

and what's worse, i think it affects how he treats me for illlnesses. cause lately i've gone in for sinus infections and bronchitis and gotten nothing.....

sorry, just venting....but hubbie really made me angry....

Hi sweetie.

My husband thinks I am his personal secretary too.

I found that it is better for him to take care of his own business.

Unless he starts making doctor appointments for me (Not going to happen),

Then I don't need to make one for him.

Plus, my husband thinks that doctors are Gods.

Don't worry. The nurse probably knows men only too well.

(No offense to our wonderful male friends here [Smile] )

Hugs,

Geneal

Randy,

Those cholesterol lowering drugs are bad news. I know because my husband has dermatomyositis (Lyme induced) and I spent alot of time on the myositis boards. (Myositis: is weakening/atrophy of muscles.) You don't know how many people were there who were perfectly fine until they started taking cholesterol meds.

Myositis can put you straight into a wheelchair. It's not something you want to mess around with especially if he is already experiencing side effects from the medication.

Look into Niacin (yes, it causes a flush but if he builds up to a high enough dose it goes away) and Red Yeast Rice. And less sugars in the diet.

Randi, I've read somewhere that even with the red yeast rice you need blood tests to check your liver. Don't know if I'm remembering correctly but you should look into it. The red yeast rice is a good alternative.

Tincup, you are hysterical!!!

<<<<< Randibear >>>>>,

On the Cholesterol meds, i had bad tremors and seizure type issues about a week and a half ago from Crestor, as well as more joint pain than usual. Free Clinic 'Med professional' just said to watch for more joint pain...

I checked online and sure enough Crestor can be bad business, especially if you've ever had any kind of seizure,tremors/jerks etc... Still not feeling good even now.

TxC makes his own calls now in most instances... to me, I speak reasonably clear English, w/ an occasional bit of slurred words.

I try to enunciate carefully and got tired of being ignored during phone calls, here in male dominated SE Idaho[ nothing against our gentlemen here on Lymenet]. So I said okay you need info? an appointment etc.sorry sweety but you do it!!!!

Sorry to here you're still having sinus issues...It seems to be permanent w/me... tho' I'm still looking for a solution.

Jus' the silverwolf here!

well ya'll know -- you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink!!!

he called the doctor and told them he wanted to stay on zetia.

so i quit. i told him, look you said you were having problems and you stopped and it seemed to improve, you asked for something different, now you don't want to take zocor, you want back on zetia....so live with it.

i mean, geez, ya finally give up ya know! if he has problems, so be it...i'm done...

ya'll know that we have enough to deal with taking care of ourselves. i just flat out don't have time or want to mess with someone who won't do anything.

if something happens to him, well, dang it happens...
