I just barely took a SMALL walk around our cul de sac. A whopping 946 steps.

I thought it was Sunday to Sunday but you know... I've been in such a fog, I could have been wrong.

Thanks for starting the topic, Tutu!

Thanks, Lymetoo, for starting the thread. Sunday to Sunday works for me. Is your heart cooperating while you are exercising?

Small walk is better than no walk, Cathy! Especially while you are on treatment. Good job!

Miss Pris and I did not go to the mail yesterday. It was cold and rainy. Neither of us wanted to venture out.

Thought of you Karen while I was out yesterday.

Mon: 15 min est on feet.

Went out to the Shoofly Ruins. While looking around found an old tree that I thought might have been there during the time the Native Americans were living there.

Found a lot of broken pottery pieces....only about an inch in size..very small..but lots of them under the trees.

Kind of concerned I would not be able to find the car as I was off the beaten path but we did it.

Rosie found that partial leg from an Elk again.

Last time I threw it out when she got in the car.

This time she made a wide loop around the car and did not want to get in the car...she has a good memory.

(She had the bone in her mouth and had carried it the whole time were were out walking)

So, I left the car door open and stepped away from the car.

She then got in.

She stood upright in the car with this leg in her mouth the whole way home.

When we got home....I had a neighbor take it out of her mouth. he told her he would take care of it for her!!

Good to be out yesterday afternoon.

But, not able to function this am yet...it will be noon in about 10 min.

Hoping I can do something this afternoon.

Miss Pris and I ventured up to the mailbox yesterday and today. I have found this yeast treatment a challenge. I must have been loaded. I am going to do another week and then take a break from everything. Perhaps then I will be more energetic.

KAM, my parent's dog brings home deer legs in the spring. Typically, they are deer that did not make it through the winter. But it really grossed my step mother out when he first brought his present home! Rosie must have been very proud. =)

Best,
Karen

Wed am: around the city block in power chair for my morning outing and that was tough because I took the power chair that I need to hold myself upright in.

Doing laundry now. Strange. The first few hours not able to do what it takes to get the laundry down the hall.

But, now have put two loads in, hung up to blankets to dry in the house and put two more loads in...hoping to be able to put two more in but we shall see.

Can't recall when I did the laudry last..just know it is overdue.

I would rather use my energy to be out on the trail but glad I am able to do this right now.

Karen...

I can't figure out the yeast thing, but haven't done enough research on it either.

And yes...Rosie was a happy camper with her find.

Sunday to Saturday like the calendar itsn't it?

Who knows.....I'm still recovering from my hangover.

Monday-Got emotionally land-mined from family, went home got bottle of Seagrams 7 drove 1 mile up dirt road.

Stomped, drank, cried, screamed at God for about 1 hour.

Decided to go swimming, (around 1 a.m. and thank God didn't find the lake) got lost and somehow made it home.

Made it to the driveway and everything after that is sketchy.

So....had a pretty good workout Monday.

0....rest of this week so far.

Lyme Too...

Hoping you slept through the night and the sciatic nerve is at peace now.

AKinwolf...sorry to hear about the family thing.

Your health comes first kiddo. Enjoy hearing about your walks with Rocky.

Glad you didn't find the lake either.

Hoping you will find it when you are in a better way and you recover soon.

Aklnwlf, so sorry that your family was such an issue this week. They sure can sabotage us! It has taken me a long time not to react to them. But it is quite a process. Take care and be good to yourself!

Best,

Thursday-Me and Rocky 1 mile today and took some Snickers candy bars to my homebound neighbor.

A pretty good day.

TuTu-Thank you. [kiss]

Kam-Thank you and I enjoyed the part about Rosie and the elk leg. She reminds me so much of Rocky. [kiss]

KGG-Thank you and trying to be good. [kiss]

Prayed for lots of folks, especially my family, for about 1 hour today instead of resorting to alcohol.

Better plan I think. [Big Grin]

Glad you're doing better, AK!!! HUGS! [group hug]

kam.. I made it OK last night, but just took a pain pill since using the Power Plate today made it worse. Previously, I had credited the PP with HELPING the sciatica.

I think too much exercise is too much exercise...doesn't matter which form it comes in.

Love to all!! I'm feeling the love today. Time to spread it around!! [group hug]

LymeToo...

You put a smile on my face.

ALW...you are sounding better

Fri am: 5 min in, rest on rock, 5 min out.

Fun outing. Rosie heard something before I could see it or hear it as usual. Then I heard a joyful yap back and a dog park furry friend that Rosie has not seen in months came running down the trail.

They had a good time playing with each other.

Sun was in my eyes on the way there. So much so I could not see. Windshield is also covered with bugs and splatters of something...guessing the rain thing when it just rains enough on your car to mix with the dust.

Hoping to be able to be strong enough tomorrow or later today to get gas and the windshield cleaned.

Forecast is that it will rain tomorrow...hoping it rains enough to clean the car.

Friday pm: 10 min weak walk in the woods. There is a storm brewing. Had a few raindrops on the windshield coming home.

Love the sound of wind in the pines. But, it doesn't smell like rain yet. Air is still dry.

Miss Pris and I went to the mail. And then I spent some time out side picking up after her. She was running loose in the yard having a great time smelling everything. Then she spied the two mallard ducks that have decided to make a home in our tiny run off pond. She went swimming and they went flying! As soon as I get the energy today, she is going to get a bath.

The snow is almost gone. YEAH! =) We are officially into mud season here. I like this season because once a year it is a good excuse not to wash your floor! Otherwise, you are washing it twice a day. Wrong....

Aklnwlf, glad to hear that you are taking good care of yourself! Keep it up! We care about you!

Lymetoo, I agree. When it is too much, the payback is not fun. So go slow. You are going three times a week? My son had the hardest time getting through the cardiac nurses brains that he had to drop the length of his stations or stop coming. He eventually crashed and burned. So please be careful!

KAM, hope you don't get wet tomorrow!

How is everyone else?

Best,
Karen

Thanks for the info, Karen. The nurses really let me decide how much I can do. MIss Pris sounds like a fun pet. My parents used to call our dog Taffy, "Miss Pris" as a nickname.

Kam.. That is so cute about Rosie finding her friend. I can just see her!

Man, I'm down and out today. I was awake much of the night with sciatica [too much Power Plate] and now today I've had nausea from time to time and pain in my bile duct.

I have a bladder infection and the abx are sludging up my bile duct again. Oh, I so hope I don't go back downhill on THAT one again!

Friday-Me and Rocky 1 mile. It was cool and beautiful this a.m. around 10:00.

Reminded me of Alaska. Down here though the dogwoods are starting to bloom and the trees are putting on a bit of green.

Beautiful!!! [Big Grin]

TuTu-Don't overdo. And that's a laugh coming from me. [Wink]

Kam-Love reading the latest adventures of Kam and Rosie! [Smile]

KGG-Right back at you! [kiss] I've got to give Rocky a bath too. If I have enough energy this weekend, it's on my to do list.

Later friends!!! [hi]

Copied and pasted this from lyme friends discussion on detox...since exercise was listed and spending time in Nature. [Smile]

Dr. Ken Singleton brings up a very good point in his book The Lyme Disease Solution:

Steps to Prevent Toxic Buildup in Your Body
Briefly he says " Improve Indoor Quality, Let Fresh Air Circulate, Eat Healthy, Drink Plenty of Pure, Filtured Water,

Use Environmentally Friendly Products, Avoid Secondhand Smoke, Clean Carpets and Rugs Regularly, Make It a Habit to Spend Time in Nature..

Then he adds Steps to Aid Detoxification

1. Eating Healthy
2. Detox Baths
3. Dry Skin Brushing
4. Breathing Deeply
5. Exercising
6. Getting a Massage
7. Taking a Saun

Ms Pris and Rocky...did you get a bath??

Rosie wants you to know she is going to the groomers on Monday.

She doesn't like the groomers but is happy that she will be able to see again as they cut the hair out of her eyes.

And her owner will be able to check her paws for stones and foxtails adn burss better too as they clean up her feet too.

Even the gray mustache on her noise will be shaved off.

She cleans up nicely, but it is a big job..at least 3 or 4 hours of work.

Ah yes...the hair in her ears will be pulled out too. Ouch!

Yesterday I got in just short of 2000 steps. Now I just need to get in a consistency of doing this on a more regular basis.

alknwolf, When you talk of the dogwoods, it sounds so scenic.

Karen, Sounds like Miss Pris enjoying spring as the snow is melting and things are easier to sniff.

Kam, Hope Rosie enjoys her groomers on monday. Montana is a German Shepherd so doesn't get groomed but never seems to like it when she even just gets her tonails cut. No pampering for her. [Smile]

Tutu, Glad the nurses let you be the boss on how much you can do. Sounds like a good set up.

Did we lose Lou? You still out there, Lou?

Cathy

Lou,

I just referred someone to this thread as they wanted to know how one maintains things after recovering.

So hope you show up. [Smile]

Cathy.....2,000 steps. Nice

Karen....I can picture in my mind Ms Pris going after the ducks!! That is a pretty cool dog toy you have in your front yard. HA!

Sat pm: 10 min est

Hi All! Sorry that I was among the missing this week. Things in my life have been so very busy.

This can be a good thing. I know that there are so many people out there that don't have jobs, and I am working plenty! So I am grateful.

But I haven't had the time to check in here, and haven't had the time to do much else but work, eat and sleep. (Except that I did watch American Idol -- Adam!! My Eye Candy! And he's got great pipes!)

That means that I did NOT get in my daily exercise. But I will do it this week. I have to. There is a "too tight" dress in my closet that I have to fit into by June. So the exercise must become a priority beginning tomorrow.

Lymetoo -- I am so impressed with the amount of exercise that you are doing. Woo Hoo!!

Cathy - 2000 steps! Hugs to you!

Kam and Rosie -- I love to read about the adventures of Rosie. You are so lucky to have her, Kam.

Akin -- I have also made the mistake of trying to befriend a bottle of booze. They are all fun and games for awhile, but the next day . . . OUCH!

Karen -- Glad the the snow is almost gone. I lived in Maine for a few years. Wonderful place, but the winters can get a bit TOO long.

Kam -- Thanks for referring your friend. Hope he/she shows up!

Hugs to all of you! My plan is to get up early tomorrow and go to the gym before work. When my alarm clock goes off, and I want to hit the snooze button, be sure that you all yell in my head "Hey, get up and go to the gym."

Lou....Come on you are burning daylight.....

Well...did you make it to the gym??

Good to hear from you.

Rosie and I had an hour outing this am. Part of the was getting gas in the car, walking into the store and purchasing a frap for the trail, and walking on the trail.

It was a good outing. I do not take them for granted. I recall when I was just able to get in the car and drive 5 min and then turn around and come home.

We also were able to go further on the trail than last time. Much further. But, how far, I do not know.

Far to me is 15 to 20 min. I did sit down on a rock and had my frap and rested.

I was reminded of the movies were a person has been out in the wilderness for days without food and water.

That was me about 10 min in and then rested and was OK and then it started up again towards the end.

Also able to get Rosie on the leash before getting to the parking lot.

This parking lot is close to the highway so need to keep her safe.

I recall a time when just getting back to the car was all I could handle. I physically and mentally was not able to deal with getting her on a leash.

I read on one of the lyme web sites...could be this one...about exercising helping with detoxing.

I had not considered that....but it makes sense.

They said even wiggling your toes helps. [Smile]

[Cool] LOL TuTu. Yep.

It also is the only time she is not with me. I think that might be a 3rd reason.

Mon am: 20 min walk to Phoenix tree with one short rest.

Work up with lots of moods this am..mostly negative ones.

But, it helped so much to take a couple of excedrin and get up and get outdoors.

Feeling more hopeful now. Rosie is a good antidepressant and pain medicine.
