Hi everyone.

Just need to vent a little.

With the pregnancy, I have been feeling so much worse lately, just really tired and low stamina, so bad that I haven't been able to leave the house on my own, etc. Bad dark circles under the eyes too, which is scaring me.

So there is the low stamina issue, but it is making the real issue here more frustrating.

The issue is that I am having a really hard time collecting practical info about what I can take and what I can't take, and I'm having a REALLY hard time finding moms to talk to.

I would like to speak with moms that treated during their pregnancies. It seems like they are hard to find because unfortunately many moms did not know they had Lyme when they were pregnant.

I just have so many questions related to treatment issues during pregnancy, what supplements I can take, etc. I can't possibly call my doctor for all my supplement questions. He doesn't know, so he just tells me not to take most of them. Even the really basic stuff. I get the impression he doesn't have the time to look it up.

And I'm down in the dumps because going off a lot of these supplements might be making me a lot worse.

And I am feeling so alone with all my pregnancy treatment questions. I tried the group PregLyme, but it has been so hard for me to navigate.

The people on this site seem much more knowledgable about supplements, I just wish they could help me out with the added layer that being pregnant adds.

And I feel really badly just posting ALL my questions in medical, because I feel like people will get so sick of hearing, "i'm pregnant, can I take this?" over and over.....

I wish this site had a pregnancy section. Or just that there would be a better way for me to get in touch with someone who can answer my questions.

Dr. J will only talk to my doctor, though I understand he doesn't have that much time.

Just really down.....even typing this is making me exhausted, so I gotta go......if anyone can think of what more I could be doing, please let me know.

I would love to go back on my B12 shots (they are additive free), I would love to keep taking my Wobenzym, I would love to be able to take NT Factor or something similar because my body feels so depleted, I would love to know of ANYTHING I can take that would at least slightly subdue the babs or a parasitic-type infection.

If anyone has ideas, please help!!!! Thanks.

if you PM me I can give you my sister's email.

She's busy at this time working full time, putting addition on house (actually it's the size of the orginal) plus raising the 4 kids.

She had her 4th while on lyme treatment.

She was only on Ceftin & probiotis for the TBIs. I think she did take the prenatal vitamins.

Hi sweetie.

Hang in there.

I did a search on Lyme and pregnancy.

There are 212 threads with this title.

I also looked up a friend of ours who is no longer on the board,

Who successfully had her baby and breastfed for over two years,

While she had Lyme. The baby didn't.

Her name is CaliforniaLyme.

Found a post dated December 11, 2007 where she gives some info on it.

I hope that helps.

The fatigue in the first trimester is all consuming.

Just do the best you can.

BTW, CaliforniaLyme took amoxi and no other antibiotics.

Hugs,

Geneal

Thanks Geneal!!!

Do you know if she had babesia? I will try to look up some of her old posts, but just in case I can't find that info in them.

You got some good info here!! My memory says CaliforniaLyme had babs, but I wouldn't swear to it. I think Melanie Reber or Tincup would know. ( I'm hoping their memories are better than mine. )

PS You and your baby were prayed for today!

I think she did have Babesia too.

She is truly missed.

How are you doing today?

Just keep resting, okay?

Hugs,

Geneal

My daughter had dark circles under her eyes, before she was diagnosed iron def.

Need to check ferritin levels, etc. iron panel studies. Will not show up in regular CBC.

Hey Hoosiers!

I am so sorry that you are dealing with this while it should be the most happiest time period of your life. I understand you have so many questions that need answers.

Yes, CaliforniaLyme would be a good contact for you. If you would like her info, please PM me and I will provide it for you.

I know that Luvsdogs has just been through this same thing, so she might also be someone you may want to get in touch with?

I really can't recal if CL has/had Babs or not, but she is very willing to speak with other lyme patients and is a walking encyclopedia of information.

Hang in there dear one...we are all routing for you and the new precious one. M

Thanks everyone.

Yes, Lymetoo, I am getting good information.

I think I was upset about not knowing if I could take my Wobenzym, B12 shots, etc....

....my dark circles got really bad in a matter of 2-3 days after stopping a handful of my supplements, and I am one of those people that when mine are bad, they are so bad that it is one of the first things doctors write about on my charts.

So naturally, when they get bad, I get really worried and freak out.

I looked it up on Wikipedia today (eye cirles) and it was saying common causes are lack of iron, lack of other minerals, lack of circulation, and dehydration.

Well, my vitamins were taking care of those things, my Wobenzym was taking care of my circulation, and my electrolytes were taking care of the hydration!!!! WERE being the operative word!

So, I am looking forward to seeing the OB on Wednesday. I'm hoping if she tests my B12 and finds me deficient she will give me the green light to continue with the shots, or that if it isn't too bad, the prenatal vitamin she will give me will help.

Today after reading about the dehydration as being a cause, I decided to consume some salt in water in low doses, and I do feel SLIGHTLY better. (salt is an electrolyte....but I need to see if the OB will give me the green light on my electrolyte supplement too)

I spoke with my Mom on the phone, and she said something that made a lot of sense: (note, I was worried that the dark circles meant the baby was in bad health too) she said, the baby is probably stealing all your nutrients.....so in a way, you feel bad, but that probably means the baby is staying healthy.

So I felt better after thinking that.

The other dark circle cause could be the iron, as Jane mentioned....so that should get tested at the OB appointment too, and maybe they'll put me on extra iron if needed.

So overall, after realizing all these things, I'm feeling slightly better.

Melanie, thanks for the offer, I will PM you.

Sorry this post is so scattered....it's like my brain right now!!!! Since pregnant, I can't think of ANY words, it is really funny. And my brain jumps all over the place.

Anyways, thank you for the additional prayers and support. I wouldn't doubt someone prayed for me after I got on here around 5, because then my mom called me and I started to feel a lot better.

Overall I feel a little bit more calm.

I am still very tired but no longer feeling like the sky is crashing down.

Over the next few days I am going to try to not come on Lymenet as much, so I can think healthy thoughts for the baby, and not always be thinking, "Lyme Lyme Lyme."

Even though Lymenet is a very positive place, and it is good to be here a lot when I'm trying to get better, now that my treatment in general is halted by the pregnancy, I figure it would be better to spend the next 8 months thinking non-Lyme thoughts for the baby as opposed to always worrying about transmission. And when I'm online, that is what I think about.

Once I figure out what to take (drugs and supps), I need to stick with it, and spend the next 8 months enjoying life, because in the end that is what will help my body create the healhiest baby possible.

So if I am not around as much, that is why. But I will still come by to check in, I just doubt I will be over in Medical very often asking or answering questions.

Hopefully this post made sense!!!!

Thank you! [Smile]

hoos,

i/we understand completely; you DO need to be away from the 24/7 lyme here affecting every thinking moment of yours.

so concentrate on that life growing in you as i've read also many times a baby does feel the positive and negativity of it's mom!

we wish you the best, and if you need things, come back and others will be able to help you ok!

may god shine light down on you and this little one! my best always.
love, bettyg [group hug] [kiss]

I can't recall if I read this in the replies above, so will repeat if so...

have your LLMD call Dr. J in CT to consult with him re: many of your questions.

As I understand it, yes, he IS busy, but is also willing to consult with other LLMDs. Worth a shot. [Smile]
