Mine at work just increased 120% . And its benefits already suck, i mean I remember just 4 years ago same plan covered inpatient and ambulatory procedurs at no cost, copays of 10$ for meds and outpatient visits, 80% out of network reimbursement
Now its $500 per admissions, $500 for ambulatory procedures, $25 copay for outpatient and no reimbursement out network

We pay privately for BC/BS.
Mine is $321 per month and my husband's is $174 per month.
I kept my plan through COBRA when I left my full time job.
Basically we have the same plan with different names.....they just charge me outrageous premiums because I had a pre-exisitng condition....which was "fibromyalgia".
I tried to get another plan and was denied.
I appealed it and was denied.
These plans will be helpful if we have a catastophe such as a long hospitalization, but otherwise they cover practically nothing.
I just wish it covered prescriptions.
For that much money every month, you'd think you could at least get help with meds.
Shameful.

Mine's been the same for several years. $650 for the two of us.
I'm sure it will go UP UP UP if this health bill passes the Senate... OR we'll have to pay a big premium with the forced government plan.
Something to look forward to.

Sending an email to a co worker to see what insurance is now with the state of CA.
I know right before I got sick it was going up to $1,000 a month for one person....that was in 2002 I think.
So, I had called a couple of local businesses to see what it would cost to go through them...but that feel through due to sickness and not having the funds to pay.
Don't recall what it was and I was not able to compare programs.

We have a high deductible HSA. The cost for us is very low because my husband's company pays for 90% of the insurance. We have a $3000 deductible. Our insurance year is from 10/01 to 9/30. We met our $3000 deductible in 24 days this year (as of 10/24/09).
