I recently started keeping a monthly log of things I am able to do around the house.

I think this started about 3 months ago when I started on the gabapentin and started sleeping through the night.

Looking forward to when I am able to keep up house myself.

I have interview tomorrow for new help with household chores. I still need someone to do meal prep now and then, vacuum, clean bathroom, change bedding, etc.

But, am thankful for what I am able to do now.

1....Shower, Grocery store (one hand basket trip)

2....Put a few dishes in DW and started it up, recharging, after 6 pm...able to clean up in kitchen a bit. Finally go the burners back on the stove and the pans washed. 2 loads of laundry are in washers now.

3....Emptied DW all at once,
4...Denise visited and did household chores
5...Denise
6....Denise
7....Denise

8....Groceries via sr van and power chair
9....Able to put a few dishes in DW, started crock pot meal, resting and then hope to finish putting ingredients in

10...Forced rest until after 3 pm, Watered potted plants, put dishes in DW

11...Forced rest
12...Forced Rest (Did take trash out in evening via power chair)

13...Returned bra to WM via PC and Sr. Van, then short grocery trip at B's, Long trip in sr van for chap pines pick up.

2 hr outing total Exhausted now. Sr. Van is a rough ride for me, able to put one bag away and a few clean dishes from DW, resting, nap, put some more dishes away, put some dirty dishes in DW, resting, cooked two hamburger paddies, rested, able to walk into thrift shop for shorts and into ma and pa store for food

14...Able to scramble one egg, add goat's cheese, toast gluten free bread, resting, put 2 loads of laundry in washer, picked up in front room for 5 min, resting, put the clothes into dry and forgot to put quarters in so went back, put down blanket into washer...starting to fade so when this is done looks like it will be rest time for awhile,

little weiner dog tried to attack Rosie. I did a dumb thing and put my barefoot in between Rosie and dog. My dog was on leash. Got to think of a better way next time.

I have a water spray bottle. Could try that. Put down comforter in dryer, took load out of dryer, forgot basket so had to come back for it, cooked 2 hamburger patties, one for lunch and the other for dinner, resting now, emptied two trash cans, rested, emptied DW in pieces resting in between

15...Intake interview with new household mgmt co
16...Up until 3 or 4 am with Rosie. Gave her a bath and took her out via the power chair...she is itching and was running around the house like a bee was after her.

17...Shower, started up DW, made eggs in GF bread, HB eggs
18...3 hr outing to Pine to get veggies and fruit. I did it but will need someone to pick up order for me next time.

19...Forced rest
20...Groceries WM (Tough one)
21...Emptied DW, Rosie to groomers via PC (trouble with vision now...the sun?? Did not wear darker glasses. Put some dirty dishes in DW and some to soak Est 10 min on feet, PC to pharmacy

22...Forced Rest, was able to go around city block in PC, called re: household help coming when??

23...Shower, 2 loads of towels, vet, able to finally open box of supplements and package of meds and put them on the shelf, having difficulty being on my feet again to get meds and supplements..may need to go to plan B,

emptied trash, had to put more quarters in dryer as towels did not dry first time through, put blanket in wash, hung up other two blankets, put colors and whites in and hung another blanket on the patio chair to dry, folded laundry and put some away

24...Rosie to vet, Dishes in DW, started up DW, HB eggs, resting,

Note: It is rare that I am able to do these things as "normally" as I would before lyme and company.

But, I count them if I am able to do them even if the vision is not good, and all the other lyme symptoms that we live with.

I am thinking I would like to record those times when I am able to function "normally"

So proud of your progress.
It's great that you're making a list of what you do.
It's a nice positive reminder that you're improving.
Too many people concentrate only on what they can't do.

When I get up I usually open the blinds. This is something I take for granted now.

But, I do recall those times when it was a rare day when I was doing well enough to open the blinds and I needed my power chair to accomplish the mission.

So for all those who are still bed bound and in lala land for the most part, there is hope.

KAM,
How many hours of help do you get a week? I have 53 hours a week of PCA help paid for by Medicaid, and you are certainly at least as incapacitated as I am.

Have you looked into all available services in your state? It was an arduous, year long process, and I had to spend down half my retirement account, but I am now considered "institionalized" by the State of CT, and recieve nursing home level of care.

I applied for what they call her Long Term Care but was not approved.

There is another plan that I available.

I am waiting to hear from that organization.

They were just granted the contract for the county.

I had 40 hours a month when I lived in CA.

When I moved to AZ I got 4 hours a month due to the county I live in not having the funds for more.

I received a letter on June 8th from this company.

Someone came to see me on July 14th for the intake.

I called and left a message this week asking when someone will be coming.

When I lived in CA, I had to apply several times as it was a matter of the county having the funds.

I finally caught them right after the budget had been approved.
